Well, the fightback started on Monday with Jake's 20/1 winning nap Roundhay Park (I'd love to be able to say Jake now Leeds), making it far from the one horse October race many anticipated. Great work, Jake.
Just to clarify on French SPs: to my knowledge all the main bookies settle bets on Racing Post SP, and that's what I have done with Sunday's results.
If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.

Very unfortunate incident in the mares novice hurdle at Sedgefield with the fatal accident that happened to Lady Stanwix. They are saying she slipped up coming down towards the last but to me it looked as if she put her foot in hole or a bit of false ground. Either way, she went down as if shot, it was horrible. Whatever the cause it was big loss for Justin Landy as she had looked quite a nice mare.
There was the acrid stench of burnt fingers at Sedgefield this afternoon when Onesmoothoperator got turned over at 1/2 by Yukon, a 50/1 shot sent out by the underrated combo of Jimmy Moffatt and Charlotte Jones. The gamble was an old fashioned wheelbarrow job for Brian Ellison, reminiscent of good old Film Festival about 15 years ago at Sedge. I twice witnessed a team working for the horse's co-owners - two noted northern pro punters - working along the rails bookies and they could not get the dosh on fast enough. The athletic frontrunner Film Director obliged on both occasions and Brian had a huge grin on his face. Fantastic scenes in the winner's enclosure. Today, I wasn't there but you can imagine the long faces.

Unlike @EGS who claims to be a cockney, not only am I unable to claim that moniker, I can't even claim to be a Londoner by birth. Although my parents lived in Harrow (within the old LCC boundaries), I was actually born at Bushey Cottage Hospital (a former workhouse) which was not even within the confines of the later GLC. In addition during the time my mother was in hospital to the time she came out (with me) we had moved to Amersham. Behind our house were (are fortunately still are) some of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture (as seen on Poirot many times). Attached is some information for your edification.

My maternal grandmother of Irish ancestry was born in West 'am. Not a cockney, but better claims than EGS.
In other news I am giving up drinking wine. Of course I reserve the right to change my mind if the dining establishment has a Sommelier available. Apologies, but this is the best I can do.
The nap is Verhoyen in the 3.00 Navan. Good luck.
I received this from Horse Racing Ireland this morning:
Disco Brunch at Fairyhouse Racecourse October 8th! Fancy a boogie at the races?! Brunch, Cocktails, Live Music & Racing for just €37.50pp! Spaces are filling fast so book now to avoid disappointment!

I’m with EGS (and Jonathan?) in being born within the sound of Bow Bells and Londoner’s debut at Navan attracted my attention. However, I don’t want to jinx his selection and will instead head around the world to a leafy suburb of the Australian capital where, on a good day, you can hear the Lakeside Bells! Yarralumla in the 16.20 at Nottingham is today’s pick.
This is the yearling colt I picked out at Tatts yesterday to buy.
He's by Almanzor out of Just Little who has bred 5 winners from 7 foals. He made 115,000 gns unfortunately which was " slightly " more than the Mrs had suggested we pay.
Mr. Rouget bought him so it will be interesting to chart his progress.
What a stunning looking horse he is.
Mustarrid 4.55 Nottingham is todays nap.A pity we lost Ludlow today I enjoy the racing from there.
Prosecco. Nottingham 3.15
7.00 Kempton - Al Shibli
Moida came back on the Guardian Forum after many eons 4 days ago with a good point about the Ethnicity of Soumilion who he said was not French as lazily reported in the Article but Belgian.
I said Soumilion might consider himself to be Flemish because of where he grew up but the Guardian Ref had stopped anymore discussion at that point.
Apparently Moida said something wrong after waiting at least 1 year in hibernation.
This was the Friday before the Arc at 19.15 when it had to close and TH reopened only after the Arc on Sunday such was the high levels of meetings required.
Apart from Jonathan I suspect I am the only person here born within Bow Bells (I think you can hear it in Paddington or what is now called North Kensington). My Parents moved me back young to Ireland but London never left me.
My nap is Londoner. 15.35. Navan.
Maybe it's because.
Hi Joe.
I did notch a 7/1 winner yesterday.
