Just found out my original selection (Pencreek) was a non-runner. I’ll therefore call up a reserve in Ivasecret in the 19.00 at Kempton. Not sure why I fancy it given it probably needs 7f. 🤔
Time was when the Bobby Renton Chase at Wetherby was the first important jumps race of the season in the north of England, and one of the key races in the Yorkshire course's calendar. It used to be a good pot to win and was a competitive handicap for middle distance chasers. As Mark Howard points out, "Twenty years ago, the winner . . . took home £10,888. Connections of [today's winner] Tardree scooped just £8,223 . . ." There has been a steady decline in the standard of entries for the Bobby Renton, but can you wonder when the prize money is in tailspin?
Continuing my not entirely successful venture into deeper waters todays nap is Mumcat at Wolverhampton (15.50). Some nice winners again yesterday here - well played all this month.
I'm visiting an old friend just outside Naas today for a spot of lunch. With any luck I should be on track before the start of the second race. Battle Away is a 9yo with just 5 runs to her name. She missed a couple of seasons before joining Ross O'Sullivan and has won the last twice. Probably too short to nap for this forum but she'll hopefully pay for lunch.
10mins before the off I asked an on course representative from Sean Graham's about the price Harry. I thought she'd be 9/4. The response: "A 9yo that disappeared off the map for 2yrs? We'll lay all day". Thankfully King Kal obliged. Lunch & dinner was paid for.
Your nap is invalid. Sorry about that. I can't accept your scribble.
My nap is Ballyporeen in the 16.15. at Wetherby. 12/10/2022.
My nap is valid.
I once tòok part in a protest March in Ballyporeen in Tipperary when Ronald Reagan visited and was USA President at the time and it was some sort of Irish Homecoming thing as that is where his Ancestors were largely from.
Thanks EGS, but I think it's Joe who needs an explanation? Your words seemed unnecessary to me. Is "scribble" a term in Ireland? Like you, I shall always speak up if I think something is not right.
King Kal won at 7/2f.
Lovely intelligent head & plenty of size about this fella. Hopefully a decent 3m chaser in the making for Colm Murphy.
Ivasecret won at 4/1.
I claim a place for Intervention in 7pm at Kempton (behind Peebles's NAP)
