January Naps Table Update
As you'll see from the table below, there were some fine tipping performances across the month with a few picking a good clutch of winners. But nobody got near Jakebuckfast with total returns (just the winners, I didn't count the place money) of £775 and a profit of £525 (£10 total stake per nap). If we ever see that again in the life of this blog ...Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't speak too soon! Well done Jakebuckfast. I will organise the Betfair race tickets once I know the meetings they can offer, and give you a shout on email.
February: A fine start for Cornsay who posted earlier that a shortish piece of the workings behind each nap would be shown. Here was today's:
So today: Ravenscar, 15:30 Newcastle. Beaten just a neck last time out by a horse rattling up a hat-trick, and up just 4lb for that. Still towards the bottom of the weights, similar distance and ground. It is a step up in class but that's probably reflected in the price. Seems like a horse that will win a race like this soon.
A nice 5/1 winner, the only successful nap of the day. Well done.
Good luck all
Joe

Raddon Top won at 7/2
Ballyback obliged at 5/4. 2/1 last night.
Ballyblack won at 5/4
Lively Citizen won at 2/1
Late sub for my NR nap - Cooldine Bog 4.45
Chavez. 4.10, Devon + Exeter.
Weebill won 10/3.
Several shorties today and a treble came out as just above 4s! If it comes in, despite misgivings I'll stick a few quid on Family Business mainly because the trainer thinks this may be one of his better buys from France, but the longest of the treble is the unconvincing
Nap 1420 Leic Sam Barton
Congratulations Jake FastBucks, bravura tipping.
Lively Citizen 2.50 nap.
Nap Raddon Top 4.45E
(Was going to do Ambion Hill but already picked twice so looked for another...)
My logic for my nap.
Exactly 12 months ago trainer Brian Ellison placed Punxsutwawney Phil to win.
Leicester 15:50
I should emphasise that my indulgent idea to post my "workings" is in large part for my own benefit, and shouldn't be taken to imply any faith in those workings. I just want to make clearer to myself what they are.
Today I've puzzled over the 15:20 at Leicester and settled on Guy. It looks a very tight five-runner contest, but I can see reasons to doubt Family Business (ex-Frenchies often don't back it up second time round) and Patroclus (last two races, PP). Kilbrook has done his winning at a lower grade, while Cobra de Mai hasn't won anything for a while and has been running at considerably longer distances (that would be the one I worry about I think). Guy hasn't been doing much winning recently either, but has been racking up places at a grade above this one, in and about the right distance. So it's partly that I think the horse has a good chance, and partly that I can find reasons to doubt the chances of the others. Also I have a very good friend called Guy. Good logic? Who knows.
Sir Dotti nap (Dundalk, 16:00)
Same again this month Jake please. A few have taken Balllyblack so for diversityi;ll take Ambion Hill in the 3.40 at exeter in the hope that a stone in weight reverses the form of his last run against Jobesgreen lad, and of course he beats all the others!
Weebill 1.15L.
Will try and do this this month!
Dusart 14:10 Exeter.
Honor Grey - 16.45 Exeter (nap)
Well done and congratulations Jake, superb napping.
NAP Kilbrook 3.20 Leicester
Ballyblack 1610 Exeter .
Well done Jake
