Naps Table Update: Winners today from Robicheaux 7 Ajero 11/4 and from Highflying Sids Annie 10/3. On catchup, I missed Jonathan Dawe on Saturday with Fakir D'Oudairies 9/4. Well done all.
For Cheltenham I think we will stick with simplicity: choose 1 horse per race, win or EW. Everyone okay with a £10 entry fee? We'll share the pot among the first three at 75%/15%/10%?
Let me know if you would also be interested in a daily permed jackpot/placepot.
All the best.
Joe
BobhoporNohope wins nicely for the nap at 4 -1. Gina Andrews never a bad option in an amateur jockey race.
Also up for a perm at Cheltenham and without wanting to be controversial I'm not sure the Chethenham bets bit of fun in general requires a Charity donation? i'm sure we all give in our own ways and we're not talking significant money here - unless we get a cracking Perm up!
I don't mind if there is, but a competition like this amongst "friends" doesn't always need the caveat of a little bit to charity.
Dingo dollar nr switch to belami des Picton 3.25D
Heavily backed Mr Grey Sky bolts up.
7/2 last night.
Happy with the Cheltenham comp - owt for a laugh as we say up here.
Was going to plump for Black Poppy but way too short now so I'll sleaze for
Nap Lud 1610 Lounge Lizard
Replacement nap: Guttural - 4.45
I like the Cheltenham plan including the charity donation. Count me in for the placepot /jackpot punt too. I find it difficult to pick one winner a day at Cheltenham so I'll take all the help I can!
Starvoski - 16.45 Ludlow (nap)
Harde Fashion 5.20 Ludlow EW
Chirico Vallis in 3.25D nap today
You missed my winner yesterday Joe: "Desaray Girl won at 5/4"
Re Cheltenham I like the idea of 1st-3rd getting a payout (keeps it competitive). With regards to today's nap, I'll be sticking with my boy Mr Washington (16:00).
Been unexpectedly overburdened with work last couple of weeks, so haven't contributed to Cheltenham discussion (or anything else), but I
(a) agree that one tip per race is a heavy admin burden unless we all mark our own homework and the admin simply creates the table (and perhaps checks the homework of the leading two or three). Also think that win-only (no EW) will be simpler. (b) would like to see a proportion of the pot go to charity, e.g. 25% (and the winner gets 50% rather than 75%)
Queens Brook in the 1300 @ Punchestown.
Heronord in the 16:45 at Ludlow
Re the Cheltenham competition. Happy to participate. Let us know the details on how we weigh out Joe (PayPal, Cheque, Luncheon Vouchers etc...).
In terms of trying to keep it simple I'd say 1 horse per race (win only) based on published SP.
We can set up a dedicated thread for it which might make it easier to track etc....
Me too Alan, don't think I'll be troubling the judge...Dingo dollar 3.25D
i went for a bit of outsider yesterday hoping it would return to form. Nope. Doubtless dot up next time when i'm nowhere near it. Today i'll go for Bohopeornohope ludlow 3.35 which has won for me before and will hopefully at least turn up.
Cheltenham - i'm fine with entry fee but like others see the admin at a tip a race being a fair bit of work.. Tho to be fair putting a pen through most tips will only take a few seconds :-) Mine will be very easy to "mark" i suspect
Another nap for Black Poppy - 15.00
Angels Dawn in the 3:15 at Punchestown is todays
Nap 3.00 Ludlow - Black Poppy
I'd be up for the Cheltenham idea & also a jackpot once it hit a decent level after a coule of rollovers. I had my first ever Jackpot win at Leopardstown on the Sunday of the Dublin Racing Festival. Paid the mighty sum of 23 euro.
