Some brave attempts on the last day of January to win the table - well done, all. Below are yesterday's results, and the final position table - both subject to any corrections that might come in. Many congratulations to Leo - great work.
I recollect Lawrence of A from the film, "There is no trick. It's not minding that it hurts." as he allows a match to burn his fingers. Overall, one of Peter O'Toole's best performances, I think.
Plaudits for your dedication to the daily naps Competition. It must be satisfying to win it.
Well played Leo. I’ve left the Caribbean villa in good order for you, apart from the tv which I put my foot through when a news report came on and flashed up a Daily Express front page. Or was it the Daily Mail?!
Chloe’s Court in the 16.30 at Exeter is today’s selection.
I'm not one to speculate too much about plots and conspiracies and such, but when the 10/3 second favourite for a race has the following description on the card, you do start to wonder if someone knows something you don't:
Poor maiden hurdler and didn't leave the impression that he'll be faring any better in this sphere when well held on recent chase debut at Catterick. 5 lb 'wrong' at the weights.
That's Mixedwave in the 14:00 novice handicap chase at Leicester, for those who like reading the runes.
Looks as though I’ve blown my handicap mark for the spring festivals, doesn’t it? Fortunately, I somehow managed to keep my composure despite Pebbles nearly putting me through the rails with that 16/1 shot.
I reckon I only napped one winner over the jumps last month and turned to AW racing out of sheer desperation. After a spectacularly bad start to January, I decided to take a month-long break from betting on NH racing altogether, including ante-post. I’m using the same approach as previous seasons, but something is clearly awry – I could probably do with a visit to Specsavers. It’s either that, or the very singular delights of Newcastle, Southwell, & Wolverhampton during Cheltenham week.
Well done Leo.
I have kept out of the relegation place play-off which is all I ask.
As I am late to the party I am going for the last at Dundalk.
Zig Zag Zyggy. 17.12.
Chloe's Court 3rd at a miserly 9/1. 20s when I put up this morning.
Comfortable win for Leo, well done, I hope it was reflected in a profitable month.
Now Billy's off on hol I'm hoping we can get some better prices on those he could have ridden e.g
Nap Kemp 1800 Little Roman
Well played Leo - some nice winners at months end!
I'll take a chance on Astigar EW in the last at Exeter (16.30). I'm not good at catching Pipe winners but who knows....
Well done Leo. You're now an all weather track expert and will soon be discussing the merits of Tapeta and Polytrack down the pub.
Fia Fuinidh in the 15:35 at Ayr.
