I’ve been hitting the woodwork recently so let’s try and finish August with a big priced winner. Eton College in the 15.30 at Lingfield is the selection. (Gone from 20s to 16s while I was typing this!)
The world is a far poorer place with the loss of many such clubs. They were great, a live band on a friday/saturday night, cheap beer and merry boys and girls. I met my wife in one, it still exists but isn't a patch on what it used to be when there were some cracking bands who made good money on the club circuit.
My Dad lives in Cleveleys, well Anchorsolme. I rememeber that Club, but more The Top Club behind the bus station. As a 12 YO I was one of the more valuable darts players for The Travellers Rest. 30 odd years goes fast!
Northern Symphonie has completed being broken, shes cantered ,led and in behind with no problems, seriously impressing Martin Jones. She stands at a full 16.1hh and will now have a month out and then will begin her pre training with Martin before going to Milton's three parts ready to run in the 3 yo bumpers which start in the New Year.
I'm planning her first run will be at Newbury which will suit her long striding action and give her a nice introduction.
Sixfiveseven has matured nicely and today begins serious work on the grass gallops at Chantilly. Tim plans to enter him in a months time in a backend maiden. Hes developed into a lovely individual since being gelded with Tim being pleased with his attitude and the ability hes now showing.
Sliante mhath won 5/2.
Touching Clouds wins at 6/4 or is it 3/2?
Since I purloined @el gran senor's nap I'm going to throw my winnings on Butterfly Island.

I was going to pick Sea Gifted but its odds on and who knows they may just be sending the horsebox out on a trip to charge the battery.
