Enemy 15.35 at ascot , though Ballydole to be feared. Useful pot in this race and a few others at Ascot today again not rewarded with Field sizes. This is start of flat season so not sure why though fact we have 5 flat meetings today may be the simple answer.
I feel obliged to explain today’s selection. Until last December the horse in question was trained nearby by the talented David Menuisier and had been competing mainly (and usually unsuccessfully) in decent quality handicaps carrying big weights. He is now in the care of Mark Hoad in East Sussex (the rivalry between East & West Sussex is intense, vicious and entirely manufactured) and today finds himself with bottom weight in an apprentice race at Ascot. The apprentice on board is the promising Aidan Keeley who I had never heard of a month ago but have recently watched stylishly steer home a couple of nice winners.
I don’t have a tracker and rarely read the racing press in any great detail. Any knowledge I have is therefore largely the result of a fractured memory where I bend and twist information to suit my pre-determined conviction about a particular race! In short, I’m convinced there is still a race or two in this horse and I’m ignoring the advice Barry Hills gave all of us and suggesting an each way bet. I got 33/1 last night (BOG) and it’s currently 25/1 with B365.
Today’s nap is History Writer (each way) in the 13.50 at Ascot.
Seems a solid rationale to me...A quick look in the Racing post suggests to wait for "positive signs" but when they come it wont be 25 to one. Worth an interest - good luck
I'm going to pop down to Punchestown this afternoon & I'm keen to take on Allaho. I'm siding with EGS at the minute re: Fakir d'Oudaries. I'm sure Allaho will get the trip given his runs in the 2018 Albert Bartlett & in the 2019 RSA. It's his jumping out to the left that worries me & this could become even more pronounced as he eventually begins to tire over 3m. It's a real pity Asterion Forlonge isn't running in this.
That was some ride by Jack Kennedy on Mighty Potter yesterday.
There is an argument for combining Fils D'oudaries with Fakir D' oudaries in a Punchestown double and I have gone and done that. I think Fils means Sons in French. I Never got to the level of knowing what Fakir means in French.
Any Horse called Hollow Games has to be worth an Interest in the 17.20. at Punchestown and has to be be in my my Coupon.
Unsure if it counts ...Rocket Dancer 4th 10/1
