Well done Luke with Monday's sole winner.

If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
NB reflecting on some posts over the past few days, have I missed a big winner from EGS? Normally my daily message flushes out these errors, but I am wondering if EGS is perhaps just being modest?
NAP Karkiyna 4.20 Listowel........
I attended plain old Listowel races (as it was known then) many times back in the late 70's and early 80's, the week after Kerry either won the All Ireland or got beaten by The Dubs. In my memory, it was then a dreary wet place (I never remember it ever being a warm September day) with a wind that would go right through you whipping through the main stand. Certainly not a wind of the "from the south, with a honeyed mouth" variety. So now rebranding it and calling it The Harvest Festival seems to me like typical Kerry tourism related cheek. Has anyone (EGS, e.g., if he ventures over the County Bounds?) been there recently and has the place and the weather improved out of all recognition?

Nap 1452 Bev Zuffolo
i think egs did tip a 40 to 1 shot e.w. that came second on sep 10. A few extra quid on the board for what could be a close month!
Qipao - 16.37 Beverley
Soldier of love. Warwick 4.10
Listowel 4.20 - Alizarine.
She looked for all the world as though she needed 1m4f when finishing like a train over 10f at Navan & then looked like a 10f specialist when going out like a light at Galway over 1m4f. I'm willing to give her one last chance at 9f.
Listowel thought for the day: Chris McGrath wrote a piece for the Sporting Life about his week at the Harvest Festival in which he could barely conceal his indignance. His main complaint went something like – it’s 2a.m. on Listowel’s main St & it’s impossible to get a drink. Not because the pubs are closed, it’s because the queues are 10 deep in every single bar in town.
Dandy's angel nap (bev, 13:42)
Catching up with Posts.
There is a scurrilous Poster who thinks I napped Glounthaune the day after at 40/1. e.w. when it was very early morning on the day itself and I was not hangover.
With regard to Michelangelo this is tricky.
All Horses called Michelangelo have been limited so I think you can re-use it.
I think it is easier to re-use the names of the Renaissance generally as there is some accepted neutrality in those names.
Recency is massive but context has to be taken in to account.
In 100 years of Solitude from now, when will the names of Red Rum, Mill Reef, Brigadier Gérard, Nijinsky, Frankel, Wayward Lad, Flyingbolt, Kauto Star and Secretariat be used?
And what about 'Yer Man'?
This has come up in the Guardian Forum before.
Is Prince Regent a better a name now when than before?
Yes.
Tudor Minstrel?
Yes.
