A productive Monday for Luke, Pebbles, Leo, David, and Gaz - well done, If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
There was lot of noise back in the spring about Constitution Hill being sent over fences in pursuit of the Champion Hurdle-Gold Cup double. It got fairly heated, particularly on Talking Horses, and I was definitely in the minority in arguing that he is a genuine two-mile champion and should be kept over hurdles, doing what he does better than any other horse in training. Critics of this view insisted he needed go over fences if he were to lay claims to all-time greatness and emulate Dawn Run. They even said if he stayed over hurdles and won multiple Champion Hurdles he would be a lesser horse than they thought he was. It was probably the same people who crab Sea The Stars for retiring at three, or Frankel for never having tried 12f or raced abroad. Thankfully CH's owner, trainer and jockey have agreed that a campaign to win three Champion Hurdles is within his grasp and so it's Newcasttle next for the Fighting Fifth. I can't wait.
Ruth Carr has 6 running today...first 4 didn't even place ....here's hoping my tip which is the biggest price of her runners does the same as Maud gone Spirit and Alcazan.
apparently I thought it a good debut in a quick race.
Redcar going on ATR is good, good to firm in places. I'm nowhere near Redcar but I'm thinking it will have pissed it down most of the day. So looked on their website. No original data let alone an update. Made me wonder what trainers do eg do they have to ring the CoC? Have to join a Wattsapp group?
My tracker offered Pepsi cat so i bet it Ew last night at 7s. Been bet into 3s ( which looks way too short ) so that can be the nap on the basis someone must fancy it! Redcar 15.00.Nap is win only
Not a day for a lottery ticket methinks. Whereas on Saturday my friends and I had a hospitality day out to the the football to celebrate a birthday - we won the "Barbie bingo" ( it was lades day_ wwere second in half time draw - 150 quid - and Spurs scored two in last 3 minutes to win us a joint coupon.
On Downside our team Motherwell lost 1 - 0 - Just couldnt score.

My each way selection, Sparkling Red, was second at 28/1.
Drat. Double Drat.
I have managed to back Maud Gonne Spirit in all her Races until today. She won at 80/1 without a cent to her name.
I am not a Yeats Fan (the Poet not the Horse) but do like that part of the country.
I always thought she had something about her and now I feel the same rejection WB Yeats felt to Maud Gonne.
