In more fun bets I would suggest Bellingham at 11s first goalscorer or 9/2 anytime are better. Both with Sky who are longer than BF as I write.

I'm old enough to have seen Mill Reef ,Brigadier G, My Swallow etc and will need to raid the attic for my book with their speed figs in.

I see the tripe continues in the press about City of Troy and there's some serious tripe over on TH with the Frankel comparisons / opinions . ( the cut and paste merchants offerings being the best yet )

Here's the hard facts .

Frankel at 2 yo ran 95 94 104 ( freak)

City of Troy has ran 57 80 87 ( nothing special)

Those are the actual figs without the weight for age bollocks that the RP insists on adding to Dave Edwards SFs ( and they add weight on which is just ridiculous as no horse runs with its allocated weight due to the back protector allowance )

I'm not decrying the horse ,just the hype.

Thanks. Illuminating. Also highlights a perennial problem that surrounds Lissen - so many good horses being talked up into superstars because of the breeding operation.

There is now 2 separate breeding industries . One to sell , one much smaller to race . The sales companies have driven this ,the Irish have mastered it and the bloody agents are manipulating it.

Coolmore are ruthless and bloody clever at it.

We have a trade paper now with a serious number of very poor journos outnumbering the few knowledgeable ones which mainly focuses on encouraging the sheep to bet for the benefit of the bookies who are their revenue stream rather than the adverts department.

It resembles the Sun or Mirror now for the hype it generates and the TV lot for its dumbing down.

How the sales are reported is so sycophantic its a disgrace . A monkey could be trained to keep nodding to drive a horses price up to 6 figures yet the RP laud those agents as if they ve just discovered how to turn water into wine.

The brown envelopes are still flying.
