No winners on Monday. Just an amendment and apologies to JD for docking him 50% on Sunday's winner! If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
Stu Crawford brought a large team over to Ayr today and came away with four winners, all unexposed or lightly raced horses. Speaks volumes for the relative strengths of UK and Irish racing when the home entries are so comprehensively outclassed. This is a minor midweek meeting, but exactly the same happened at the first Cheltenham meeting in October, as I remarked at the time. Are you awake, BHA?
Some sites (not the RP) have the trainer of Guard Duty, winner of the 2.05 at Southwell, as Mrs Fenton. Has Barry made an honest woman of Emma Lavelle at last?
Thank you, Harry. The first winning tip in a long long time (albeit in the Stewards Room, but I'll take it). Young Bryan seems to have a good rapport with Noel Meade.
Hadley Freeman was discussed here a day or two ago, her departure from the Guardian being cited as a sign that the Guardian is losing its way. She believed that the Guardian was timorous in discussing certain issues. She has written at length here about one of these issues -
Thank you for posting that article, a very good read! I will miss Hadley. All that remain in The Guardian are the likes of Adrian Chiles and Tim Dowling and their articles (which I have NEVER read)..........and other alleged journalists!
I like Gandhi Maker too but with that owner you have to tread carefully. The market signals so far are not promising.
The one for money is Lisloran (50/1 to 9/1), trained by Russell Ross who has never trained a winner under rules. (He is only the second current trainer I can think of listed as being based at Consett, Co. Durham, the other being the legendary Wilf Storey.) Lisloran has started at huge prices in five runs since arriving from Ireland.
Dolayli placed at 14/1 in 3.45 at deauville
Joe, wonders will never cease! Nucky Johnson wins at 6/1.
