I really like the chances of another Spencer ridden horse in the 17:45 at Newcastle, but for the nap I'm selecting White Hart Lady in the 13:00 at Linfield at longer odds.
I was travelling home from Cheltenham yesterday so I missed a decent card at Exeter. I'm just after catching up with the replays and there was some fine horsemanship on show. Skelton was very good on Unexpected Party & Cobden too on Timeforatune, whose wayward antics reminded me of Billy Connolly's routine about how a Glasgow Drunk walks around on only one leg.
That was the race with the loose horse after first - it was between your fingers stuff but the jockeys were great. Skelton was trying to tease it out the way with no success, not sure it affected result but i'm sure made it a memorable race to ride .
I'm going to stick to outsiders -of sorts Hellfire Princess has won a bumper at Hereford so maybe overpriced for the 14.45 today - similar conditions. I'll go EW reflecting its not a confident nap.
This horse is in my tracker but on notice to win or take a walk. It was on this day last year that Kyntara was beaten at odds-on at Lingfield. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that day and believed him to be an absolute cert next time at Warwick over 21f. He got chinned by a gambled on beast of Richard Phillips', looking none too genuine. I don't know what to think now - he was Kim Bailey's leading novice hurdle hope last season after a sparkling bumper win on the heavy at Warwick the year before. He's had a wind op and is sent straight over fences to exploit a seemingly attractive mark of 118 - in theory. The trip will suit but what then? If he wins he will go up at least 7lbs and into Class 3 company. It's hard to see him running up a sequence.
What do people think about the new BHA Governance structure? Guardian seems to think it might be an improvement? It seems like a step in the right direction, if it works? Or is it doomed?
Doomed, eventually, I suspect. The veto has gone but the letters have just been rearranged and now it's a vote for board members. But the same committees who held the veto have reps on the board who have a vote. Not quite the same thing, and certainly an improvement on straight vetos, but there will be a major fallout before long, especially as the BHA have established a new commercial arm. On that side they will surely be looking at media rights, the real value for tracks with each fixture. As I've said often enough, many of racing's problems would be solved if it had full ownership of fixtures. Any realistic ambitions for greater overall control of fixtures and their worth will mean a rabid fight with racetracks. Fur, feathers, wigs, and tempers will be flying, and the legal eagles will, as ever, be burnishing their snouts for the gold plated trough.
Thanks Harry. Wish I'd put all my winnings from WHL on him, but any winner feels good. Some have said that the team that played at WHL serve the finest sodas in London. Apparently, they're the biggest bottlers in town.
Harry,
Only catching up and missed that tip.
I never knowingly miss out on you P2P knowledge.
A long wet day on Northumberland coast has left me with Newc all weather races. Gone for Wrenhorpe in 6.15pm

Nap: 1.45 Hereford - The Street

I actually did put him in a coupon. He is taking on Mattie's Mountain and Mount Brown in that Race and will need a few of those jumps away them.
Spanish Angel 18:15 New’c EW Nap
Happy in the herd could describe Kyntara. Set out winning but the last such event was about 22mths ago. Perhaps just a polite horse, 'No, after you'.
Nap Here 1345 Kyntara
Bass has accompanied him in all rules races so I'm putting this down to the horse.
It’s Destined to be my selection (16.45 Newcastle).

Shocking form this past week, today's victim is Branson missouri 2.00L.
FAKENHAM (Rail movements: 12.20 +258yds, 12.52, 2.22 & 3.22 +158yds, 1.22 +172yds, 1.52 +237yds and 2.52 +215yds)
What a farce .
Three good winners yesterday.
Sometimes you need to keep the Scoreboard ticking over and await a moment of inspiration (fluke).
The Fairyhouse Card is a dastardly contraption designed by Terry Thomas whilst grooming his Moustache.
I am swerving that meeting in favour of the magic combo of Simcock/Spencer in the 16.12 at Newcastle. Lady Marie should pay out at 3/1.
