Brilliant Newbury treble for Pat Dobbs and Richard Hannon. And good to see Julie Wood back among the winners. One of my favourite colours over the last several years.
So 5 flat meetings today....Hebrides in the Newbury 4.10 for Haggas is the nap - better pot than most today and horses still running well.
Lets hope all the meetings get to finish - i read yesterdays comment re over watering and its a bit mad. What's so different this year from any other that we lose parts of 4 meeting in a week? New directive? I wonder if jocks, who im not blaming in any way, lose confidence in the ground when this happens frequently and are more wary? That would be natural,.If i know its been icy outside of late im not running on the pavement anytime soon.

@Dilton ”Soggy” Cooper posted on his Twitter account (most appropriate for a real Twit) that he put 5mm on the course on Friday and another 5mm on Saturday. He described the going yesterday as good and good to soft In places. Then the deluge which, as Dilton states, was forecast. He know admits that the finishing straight is softer than the rest of the track. He destroyed a meeting at Sandown last year and a good number of AP bets held by many.
I’m with Eve Johnson Houghton who called for the BHA to issue fines to tracks that failed to ensure a safe racing surface.
Can you explain the frequent dismissive references to University degrees? Are clerks to the course all University graduates? Your comments about this appear to be quite prejudiced. I believe that all knowledge is valuable. Your comments about graphic design are not well informed. It is the fundamental knowledge base and skill which underlies the key elements of modern society. Without the creative graphic design students who specialise and then graduate from the eight disciplines within it the UK would be a primitive backwater, effectively living in a Stone (pre-computer) Age.
Historically, working class children have been hampered by a lack of qualifications mostly caused by poverty which gave rise to negative parental attitudes to learning as they wanted to see their children earning money as soon as possible. This meant they had little chance of achieving their academic potential.
Well qualified graphic designers normally find little problem in securing well paid employment. Design needs exist across every industry.
I really do not see the point in tilting at the academic windmills in your hugely well informed comments about horse racing?
@QuaiDB I tilt at the academic windmills because theres to many of them in racing without an ounce of common sense ( and in my opinion which I'm allowed to have ) elsewhere.
Can't imagine how many trackers Clenched went into as his price is ridiculous with 16 newcomers in the field. Could be an informative race though. I like a couple of Buick's (yawns all round) I've put on here before
New 1610 Archiano
the other being Noya, but in my cynical mode as Sky have just sent me an email reminding me its running then they must fancy that one to get beat
De Vegas kid won 6/5
NAP Dairerin 7.15 (Limerick Junction, as it was known) Tipperary, big price 25/ or so..............

Tucson Cloud grabs the eye as another 4 year-old from Michael Stoute, and Ryan Moore's only ride, I think in 3.00 Leicester.
But for last nap of a poor month, I'll try a bit of magic:
Merlin's Beard 3.10 Newbury
Golden spice 4.00L.
De Vegas kid (16:20)
