The way it’s going some may look back and say, “Do you know it wasn’t always Class 10 races here at Brighton. There were times when there was a Class 6 card with the occasional 5 thrown in for good measure. Also, back in those days there were also horse races with more than four runners”!
I still can't get used to the idea of flat racing at Wetherby. It's a bit like having a car boot sale in the Royal Enclosure at Ascot. But there are some decent field sizes there this evening so the demand is there, at least from trainers. So what do I know. For what it's worth, they are saying it's good, good/firm in places, but there was a fair bit of rain over the weekend I'm told, so it shouldn't have any sting in the ground.
I too read about Plunkett. I know it wouldn't make a lot of difference, but surely all of his various body parts currently scattered around Europe could be interred in one place (obviously Ireland).
