Quai - Many thanks for baling me out once again. Completely forgot last night.
An eventful day, eh? Gosden would have us believe he has changed his mind and it's a fresh new start for his ' best friend' (the one he humiliated, you remember?) Yet listening to him on the Nick Luck podcast all he seemed to do was repeat his moans and complaints about the jockey. No question in my mind his hand has been forced, very probably by Cheveley Park, with perhaps one or two more joining in. It fair cheered em up to see a bully brought to book.
And confirmation that the Havlin ban was so ridiculous the BHA aren't even letting it get to appeal. There are now so many successful appeals that the BHA seem to have decided it ain't worth wasting time on them. Billions of pounds are bet on UK racing every year - a massive industry from a betting viewpoint, and one which depends on the stewards getting things right, at which they have proved themselves abominably inept. What a state our sport is in.
I cannot stand bullying, David, and I'm certain that's what Gosden was doing. You cannot behave like that without it being in your character - that's been my life experience, anyway. I suspect Gosden has hidden it pretty well in public until now. Always respected him as a trainer up to now, even while getting the impression that there was always a condescending edge to him. I have no time for him, and never will.
