Nothing stands out, it's too hot to look into any detail so I'm just going to nap the biggest price horse in the meet in the hope this ridiculous weather throws out some odd results (there is no chance I'll be putting any money on it though). Talk of Charlotte (nap) mussleburgh 15:35 (although Bobby shaftoe will probably win....)
I presume the temperature up there is going to be just below 30C so the meeting should go ahead.
It is one thing for Horses who have predictable physiology and don't use higher cognition but the Humans who also have predictable physiology mentally suffer in the face of novel extreme temperature as we have higher cognition (me excluded).
I am currently in London where 39C is predicted tomorrow.
Back home in Ireland I am told that people cannot walk 10 yards without falling flat down on their faces as the temperature is reaching 28C
It is relative. Any local Stable and Racecourse staff attending Musselburgh and Ballinrobe are simply not used to suffering 28C in their Workplace environment.
It is just as high a percentage in their perception of heat intolerance as local staff who are excused duty at Windsor due to animal welfare.
Allthebest 3rd at a useful 18 to 1
Tullypole Annie won at 9/2
Bobby Shaftoe won at 9/4.
Tullypole Annie - 17.30
Ramon Di Loria 3.00 Musselburgh won SP 5/2.
Flylikeaneagle 13:50 Muss Won 10/3
NAP Prince of Verona 4.30 Ballinrobe, 9/1 or so...........................
Flylikeaneagle 13:50 Muss
Nap 1645 Muss Thin Blue Line
Drifting nicely, I like these horses that do well in the Super Sunday Series
The combination of the heat and Jakes early big winners this month make picking a bit harder than usual.
i'll go big with AllBetsOff Ballinrobe 5.00 each way
