Just Don't Know won at 7/1
I was equally impressed with Movethechains and I agree it was fair racing ground. Soggy Cooper would have loved it.
Full marks to Lingfield for resisting those voices saying it was unraceable. It was heavy all right, proper Lingfield heavy, but it was really wet and they were going through it fine. I didn't see anything finishing distressed, unlike elsewhere in recent days where the ground has been soft but sticky and really tiring, with horses clambering over the final fence and running up and down on the spot up the run-in. I have to say the performance of the day was Movethechains in the novices handicap chase. With only five runners I expected them to go a crawl as they had in Snuff Box's race earlier, but in fact it was a good even gallop, not crazy but one that suited the winner who jumps well and goes kindly for his jockey. Just look at the time though - not only was it 4sec quicker than the hurdlers went (and they ran half a furlong less too!), but it was no less than 24sec faster than the hunter chase over the trip. (OK, the winner, Dolphin Square, was carrying 12st, but you get my point.) Movethechains defied a 17lb rise in his mark today and won by 14 lengths in a good time. They call it Lovely Lingfield, don't they?
Here we go again.
"There’s obviously still an agenda against him [Tiger Roll]. It’s all the time against this horse." Eddie O'Leary on Tiger Roll's new chase mark, down 4lb from his last run over fences. 😴
A few going for the 1555 @ Lingfield - I'll side with Auenwirbel EW (11/1 ish). Extra places around for betting purposes!
I've finally succumbed to the Covid.. I worry it might affect my unrivalled ability to pick a lower in any event!! Vinnie Dev is the nap, I reckon he might just like that Lingfield ground.

If not for Dylan nap (Ayr, 14:30)
An uninspiring day. I'll prob end up chucking some brass away on Festival NRNBs which are hardly generous. I know I'm a grumpy old git but, for example, you see 20s on Oddschecker then click on the site to find the NR 'insurance' means you can only get 16s.
Nap Ayr 1650 Time for Holly
because I feel sorry for Bassy having to go all that way for 1 ride. He only has 1 tomorrow at Hereford too but I can't imagine that will be as far. Perhaps he's fallen out with his agent. Now I've checked the last fortnight, he has had 2 rides 5 times and the rest 1 with a couple of days off. Seems under used for such a good rider. As a footnote to memory, his outside rides seem to do very well.
ECLAIR DE GUYE in the Lingfield 14.10 can be todays nap. There's a hot fave in the race before that but its too short especially after yesterdays 4 to 9 triumph.
Nice one Alan.
Kimberlite Candy, has drifted out to a value price in the hunter chase. Last race at Lingfield. Would surely win this on a going day.
I'll make him my nap.
Hatchet Jack 3.55 Lingfield is todays win nap,but will be doing it EW in the real world with extra places.Well done yesterdays winners.
Shot Boii in the 3:55 @ Lingfield is todays nap.
NAP El Poppochapo 4.50 Ayr Crawford/Hughes.
My NAP was second yesterday! "Things are looking up" as the great Sarah Vaughan sang....................
Whoa Black Betty in the 13.20 at Ayr is my nap. Win only.
Contrary to popular opinion she has never had a child bam-ba-lam and the damn thing did not go blind bam-ba-lam.
