Highflying's been in good form these past 7 days, landing Monday's sile nap success - well done. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
An unusual Runner in the 17.45 at Roscommon 2yo maiden.
Cambridge. A Sue Magnier name. A Dubawi who the lads have demanded from Lissen in his annual appraisal for at least 2 years to create a Dubawi Stallion but he hasn't got the feel for them yet.
Clearly he is useless as I have never heard of a good Horse who started out in Roscommon and will be gelded and sent to Joseph within 6 months.
However the fact it is named by Sue means he must have shown his paces at an early stage so that is my nap.
Hills sent me an Epic Odds reminder of evens for Moore to ride a winner tomorrow. As Paddington is around 4/7 it appealed. The max was a tenner, but as I wasn't going to have a bet in that race I thought I'd put it on for fun. They told me I could have £3.30p max! I know the share price is pants, but really. I hope you have more luck and they let you have the tenner!
As an aside, I backed Spain to win the WWC before a ball was kicked. When England reached the final I cashed out because I didn't want to feel conflicted while watching the match and willing the Lionesses on. The outcome pretty much sums up my punting life!
because its my only tracker today and I don't intend backing it.
In TV bingo how long will it be before we get that it only takes 2 horses to make a good race? FFS its supposed to be one of the flagship races yet only 2 trainers can be arsed to take on Paddington. Lissen will have a few resting in their box and he may be regretting not sticking a handful in and farming the place money. Not that the Voltigeur, 5 runners, and a red hot fav is much better. The Acomb has 6 but 5 won last time and the other was 2nd. The bars and restaurants will be full on in the middle hour. At over £600 pp the Ebor restaurant has sold out so I'm not feeling sorry for anyone. The opposite, I'm sure a fine time will be had by all.
The Eclipse is one of my favourite races of the season, even with 4 or 5 runners. I suppose that's inevitable though, given its proximity to R Ascot. However, you certainly couldn't make any such excuses for the poor turnout in The International. The Foxes will pick up nearly £54g for crossing the line in 4th. A 5th place would have paid out £26g and 6th would've banked £13,500.
The middle of August and we have 2 jump meetings and no flat today in UK (just 1 in Ireland). Never mind I'm sure the BHA will sort everything out with their new fixture list... stop laughing at the the back!
Joe, youve overpaid me for saturdays 3rd place. Should be 10 quid.
Yermanthere wins very cosily at 10/3.
Courtland won at 2 to 1
Beauty Thunder won at 11/4
I'm not napping the horse on my tracker, Emorcee, and I know I'll regret it (Loingseoir might win that 7.15, Roscommon).
NAP Franno 8.15 Roscommon, Colin riding for his babbo, 7/1 or so.
Beauty Thunder in the 17:45 at Roscommon.
Courtland Worcester 18.00
Saint Arvans 18:00 Worcs EW Nap
