Savoieblue and EGS made the scoreboard on Monday - the full month reslts by day can be seen on the Daily Spreadsheet page for July. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
I usually say we will wait 24 hours before declaring the monthly champ, but Jake is so far clear I cannot see even a blunder from me in the counting making any difference. So, once again, and for the 3rd time this year, and the 5th time in all, Jake is declared the monthly winner. A quick check, Jake, shows that you also won last July. You are always modest and kind to others and it's such a pleasure to have you as a member. I know you'll tend to underplay this victory, but your record merits the highest praise. Well done.
Well done too to Alan, JD, and Luke, who made a profit in the 31-day month, with Gaz and Leo very close behind.
Good luck to all for August. Looks like it will be about another week before I can get the new site launched.

I find it hard to understand how the top jockeys played into the hands of Tom Marquand on Quickthorn with its known tactics. I suppose it is a kind of groupthink where all think as one and reassure themselves in their collective stupidity. On top of that there is a subsidiary game going on where no particular jockey in the pursuing group wants to expend too much energy trying to catch the leader as it will theoretically damage their chances at the finish. So the gap extends and the difficulty of reeling in Quickthorn increases until the dynamics unfold and leave all the pursuers competing for second place and rueing the result. "Bizarre" said Frankie Detttori yet he's an old dog and he should know. They've all been kippered.
Brilliant from Tom Marquand and the trainer.
Just like the old days! Dermot Weld bags a brace at Galway races.
Lord Riddiford won at 8s
August 1st and I'm already feeling under pressure!! A great start by some......
NAP Alanya 6.40 Galway.
Ancient Rome won the 14.50 Goodwood at 33/1
I specified e.w. even though I thought he would either win or get tailed off. Cowardice.
Ancient Rome EW Nap Won 33/1
Thanks for all the kind comments, well done to the other contenders in July and to yesterday's winners.
Rewilding 5.55 Yarmouth is the nap on a day I have only had a quick look as I had to pick my daughter up.
Congratulations Jake, another excellent performance. Also, honourable mentions to those filling the champions league spots, Alan, JD & Luke. I started July with a hat trick and then hardly anything for the rest of the month. I blame the weather!
Caius Chorister - 14.50 Goodwood.
Worth noting another good article by Greg W in the G today. He gets his share of stick here - often in my opinion deserved - but re the whip rules he seems to be on the side of the angels.
Well done again Jake. Great tipping this year. Keep it up.
I'll try Espressoo today in the Goodwood 5.05 EW.
Congratulations Jake on another fine victory. I really didn't want an all expenses paid trip to the Caribbean.
I hate to desert Coltrane who has been a cracker of a horse for me, frequently hitting a lot of higb notes, but I'm selecting Iberian in the 15:25 at Glorious Goodwood rather than the Qatar Goodwood Festival. I'm hoping he won't become a cliff horse, and remains on the peninsula.
Congratulations Jake. Billiant stuff.
My nap is Joe Masseria - 18.40 Galway
Joe, may I email you to ask you a question? I don't have your email address.
Well done Jake on the hat trick...incredible..
Ancient Rome 14:50 Good EW Nap.
Kitsune Blue is the ew nap.
Goodwood 2.50.
Awesome tipping Jake ! Well done.
Excellent Jake, 3 from 5 is superb. I think I scraped out of the relegation places as people went on holiday.
The Lennox has cut up badly and frankly should be a penalty kick for my main bet Kinross, the only caveat being that even Kane misses the odd one.
The one that caught my eye was
Nap Gwood 1340 Lord Riddiford
who really should be nowhere near the top of the market but is returning to what looks like his fav venue, 3 from 4, some 3lbs lower than his last win in this race. Much shorter than his previous wins @10s and 13/2.
Good news at last regarding my unluckiest and least favourite racecourse:
National Hunt racing is to return to Windsor, the venue’s owner Arena Racing Company has announced. The track staged jump racing until as recently as 1998 and even stepped in to host a number of fixtures when Ascot was being redeveloped in 2005 and 2006.
It is hoped the first meetings will take place during the 2024-25 season with December 15, 2024 earmarked for the first action.

Lone Eagle EW 4.35G
Almost halved in price since I backed it yesterday, but will stick with for the nap.
Congratulations to those at the top of table this month - sorry for the mess in the villa Jake - the cleaners went on strike!!
Goodwood 2.50 – Imperial Fighter (each way)
Top work Jake. As a 3-time winner in 2023, that surely means you get to keep the trophy? You can festoon it with all of those letters from bookmakers informing you that your account has been closed?
I had a decent start to July, but my effort petered out mid race. Undeterred, I’m going to adopt the same tactics this month and go long in week one.      Â
Congratulations to Jake, super tipping, 3 months out of 7 is fantastic. Also, very well done to the others in the Top 8.
