I was going to do Lower Street in 7.45W - been rubbish recently, but hoping a return to form on AW might come - not worth the gamble currrently at a measly 7/2 though!
Am I terrible at the moment. Was going to back Oscula then didn't as I'd backed the other and that ran poorly. Then noticed I'd missed Harry's Bar when my tracker notes said back him at Dundalk. Only glimmer today is the too short
Nap Ham 1645 Glam de Vega
I'm getting excited about York already and have a couple of bets. I followed the goss about Chillhi and had a little at 33s which looks a good price after the decs came out but the one I missed was Native Trail at 8s to 3 places as there are now only 7. Hopes would have been raised by an enjoyable article in the Times from Brough Scott reminding that even the Brigadier 1/3 lost at York!
Missed The Cut ran really well ,he had only won an ordinary Class 2 hcap at Ascot so to jump up to G2 and only be beaten 5 and bit lengths was a really good effort as he stood no chance to beat Al Hakeem on the clock.
Hes a late maturing type whose progressed from Class 5 to this run really well. It was wishful thinking he could win at this juncture but hes shown hes got what it takes .
Al Hakeem goes straight for the Arc , the extra 2 furlongs will suit him really well as Rouget puts the speed in over 10f before going up but my own view is it might be a year to soon to win, a place run like Sottsass did as a 3 yo maybe but hes held in really high regard and it's not looking that great a race other than last year's winner who is a much stronger horse now so it's down to the draw and a bit of luck in running .
Secret Army won at 3/1.
Glam de Vega won at a miserable 4l6
4.45 Hamilton - Wilkins
Here's hoping yesterday's climb up Croagh Patrick brings about a change of luck. I probably should have called in a Knock too (0 - 15 this month).
Out from under wins at 13 to 8. Ticking over.
