Did Frankie Dettori make a tactical error in leaving it too late to bring Stradivarius out from the rail? A significant amount of energy must have been used up in pulling out wide and some loss of momentum? Given that Stradivarius was closing towards the line, it is arguable that this lost it the race. Frankie commented afterwards (what I saw on ITV) that the low draw was a problem as was the slow pace, giving the advatage to younger (faster) horses in the finish, but he concluded that coming out wide did not lose him the race. I know it wasn't an easy task, but Frankie is usually a master of such situations. Hmm. I see that the Stewards wished to hold an enquiry into his use of the whip "but were unable to do so" and adjourned the meeting until Friday. Certainly, Frankie did not seem to be a happy man and I can understand why.
In the last race, I saw a comment before the race by a tipster I follow who hoped that he would not have to complain about the ride of the jockey on Chief of Chiefs, which happened to be Spencer. " I’m just hoping I’m not cursing the ride afterwards. He doesn’t need produced from miles back, as seen in The Silver Wokingham."
I watched the race but did not see the start clearly. However, the commentator stated that Chief of Chiefs had had a bad start. I'd be interested to know what caused this? Did anyone have a better view than I did? I'd genuinely like to know if it was an example of Spencer's hold up tactics?
There seems something wrong with the servers and I cannot create a new post for Friday. Please leave your Friday tips on this thread for now and it will hopefully be sorted out soon.
will do. Tangovictorindia can you just encourage Users to accept I will be in the Harem in the Champange Bath courtesy of Betfair as my June lead is unassaible and they need to concentrate on the next month
They need to preserve their dignity.
Whatever happens always keep your dignity.
I have have effectively won the June Contest with Thesis and I think it is best if my fellow competitors concede and look to July. There is no shame in that.
They have to keep their dignity.

There's a man I meet, walks up our street
He's a worker for the council
Has been twenty years
And he takes no lip off nobody
And litter off the gutter
Puts it in a bag
And never thinks to mutter
And he packs his lunch in a Sunblest bag
The children call him Bogie
He never lets on
But I know 'cause he once told me
He let me know a secret about the money in his kitty
My original nap was withdrawn (presumably connections heard I’d put the mockers on it). My revised selection is Little Prayer in the 19.30 at Lingfield.
I don't know why we have lost the popular Colour of the Queen's Hat market just because HM is absent from the races. Surely she could play along from home by tweeting a selfie wearing her hat at 2.15 each afternoon. I mean, for betting purposes it was never essential to see her in the flesh wearing the hat was it?
Maliboo Ffos Las 6.25. Hopefully it wins and hopefully it stays at round about 11/8. I bet yesterdays nap at 9 to 4 and it returned 10/11 which didnt hurt my pocket but did no good in Nap competiton. There are more nappable races today like the 5pm at Ascot but while i'll bet something in it - it will likely to be last minute!
In a non too demanding race at Ripon I was tempted to nap Tinto who is still 5lbs below his highest winning mark, but longer odds are available about the drifter
Pizza Bianca Ascot 16.20.

Another winner for Neil Callan there - first at Chelmsford. He's riding well. His time in Hong Kong seems to have done him good.
