Karl Phillippe wont at 5/6 after a very sketchy round of jumping and Paddy B losing his irons...Not one i'll be over keen on next time out but got there today
Haha . . . I thought I had caught my bookmaker asleep at the wheel for a moment there. He was going 5/2 Gesskille in the Ludlow 4.00 without the fav market. I had a good bet on and a brief smile played across my lips. Until, that is, they told me the price had changed from 5/2 to 1/16. Sheeessh.
Wise Eagle does it again for Adam Nicol at Newcastle. What a star he is for this small yard. Adam only has about nine horses in at the moment and can now boast six career winners - all with Wise Eagle. Adam trains at North Sunderland, just behind Seahouses, an area I know well. As well as a turf gallop on farmland he has two sand gallops - seven furlongs on Bamburgh beach and about four at Seahouses! Plenty of wading in the chilly North Sea is great for the horses' legs. Nicol is best known for being Lady Buttons' jockey in the first part of that grand mare's career. He stopped riding after some bad falls and set up a family operation back in his home area. He deserves his success; hope he can find another horse as tough and genuine as the Eagle.
Yesterdays nap was unfortunate..it was the Nichols horse in the last at Wincanton, you remember? The one that was 8 length clear and coasting home, the one that fell 2 out....
Today its Karl Phillippe Ludlow 2.00 for Paddy and Fergal
3 from the tracker today and they all look to have a bit to find with other runners!
Nap Lud 1440 Kakamoro
as it only has 3 opponents so can't do that badly, can it?
Anyone taken much notice of the bookies latest trend to offer seemingly good enhanced prices, eg Hills yesterday had Al Boum Photo at 13s, nrnb, BUT were not accepting ews. Perhaps they had noticed that while horses previously placed rarely come back to win or that now being 10 ABP is now above the age of most winners, so while a placing is quite possible, winning unlikely! I think 365 started this new fad.
Molly carew won 8/11.
