Apologies for the recent hold ups. We moved house on Monday and our experience with the removals company was 'sub optimal' (well. I've got your fucking furniniture in my van! How about I deliver it in six montha!!!') We're in now anyway, and until I can find a pair of trousers and my razor, the locals will continue to be wary.
Well done all winners; it's a cracking start to the month. I hope I have got things right in the catch up. If not, you know what to do.
One of the things I missed was Uggy's race. Just watched it now and his appetite for the game is the most striking I've seen since Katchit in his juvenile days. He traded at 8/1, which I'd guess was about the 4th hurdle when still pulling hard. The fact that he continued so keen until jumping the last says much about him and his future. He looked to be running around quite a lot and losing concentration at a few jumps; all part of his keen attitide, I suspect. I guess Dilton and Paul who've done a tremendous job with this horse, will be considering putting the hood back on, especially as he moves up in trip. Am still not convinced by his action that he wants top of the ground and I see Timeform had the going as good to soft yesterday. Anyway, it'll be fascinating to watch his progress. Very well done to Dilton and Paul and you syndicate members who've supported him. As soon as he's learnt to settle, I'll make my bet for The Stayers!

Finest leader won 13/8.
Christine Dunnett is one of the real characters of racing and has been around for goodness knows how long. But she tips away from her Norfolk base and is a Yarmouth regular, which isn't easy when your horses are rated below 50 and Newmarket battalions are just over the horizon. So it's three cheers for her when she does have a winner, and especially when it was as well backed as Enchanted Night was today. He's a pure 5 furlong hold-up horse that needs producing late, but ultra consistent, yet he so often finds one or two too good for him. Not today, finally breaking his duck on his 32nd try ridden by his usual pilot the veteran Royston Ffrench. He won comfortably in the end to land some tidy bets.
Refuge won at 15/2. My first winner on here since Noah developed an interest in ship building.
House moving is a nightmare, Joe. Best wishes with it.
NAP EW Enfranchise, 6.15 Tipperary. "Shark" and Mrs Mee, they let me down at Cartmel the other day. Big price this evening...........
Significantly Nap won 4/1
Newbury 8.25 - Man Of A'an
Joe. Thanks for your comments on Uggy.
He will never wear a hood again. He hated it at Uttoxeter and he does not need one.
He goes out with the best team at home ,he's a 34 mph cruising speed horse so when he steps up in class I can front run him and he will settle in the lead or just off it if one wants to go on to quickly in front.
His jumping is brilliant ,he gained yards in the air when Brad let him and he ran straight at the last and after ,even after Bowen tried to intimidate him turning in.
At Stratford he was simply far better and was running all over them and his burst of speed turning in and after the last lead to him running to a highly impressive 92 on the clock, way above the grade standard. He needs genuine quick ground but will act on good to soft as he matures.
On his home work there's loads of improvement to come with each step up in trip.
You ll never see him in the Stayers ,he's to small to carry 12st in G1 company.
At least no one can accuse me of being a non-trier.
I'm just not very good.
