Nice 9/1 winner for Luke on Wednesday, with Gaz's nap also winning. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
I still reckon there's loads more to come from Scarlett O'Hara. She was beaten 3l on debut by Sounds Of Heaven at Leopardstown and that decent filly got within a length & a bit of Tahiyra at Ascot. Saying that, Shamida looks decent.
Far from the glamour of the Newmarket July meeting, the 2.00 at Doncaster was a heartwarming affair. The race for amamteur riders was won by Chief Craftsman, the 49-rated 9yo yard favourite at Tim Easterby's huge operation. This son of Mastercraftsman made his debut six summers ago for Luca Cumani (Frank Spencer up) in a maiden that was won by the future Group 1 winning filly Crystal Ocean. After a fruitless season he was sent to Paul Nicholls to go juvenile hurdling but was on the sidelines for three years and never left Ditcheat until being sold to Tim Easterby. He soon saw him as a safe conveyance for a series of young jockeys and amateur riders, and it's one of the latter, Mrs Emily Roberts, who steered him to a cosy win today. Stepping the old boy up in trip has done him no harm. He won't let success go to his grey head though: it's back to his day job as a schoolmaster on the gallops for him tomorrow.
And just for good measure, his stablemate Marbuzet landed the forecast!
2 trackers in this race; the selection and Scarlett O’Hara. I’m not entirely convinced that I’ve made the right choice. Scarlett is very much a work in progress and there is probably more improvement to come. However, playing it safe with the Dermot Weld filly.  Â
In a bit of a quandary about this race! I've backed Quinault before, but trainer not in great form - in the end I decided weight difference and Ryan Moore, rather than Spencer, was enough to persuade me. Also done Desert Cop EW at 16s - a big drifter - but has some good form with Group 1 performers including 2 length 2nd to Shaquille.
Some decent racing today, although that has little affect on my tipping (unless you're looking for those to swerve!). I like the two Clive Cox runs in the 15.00 at Newmarket and will back both ew to 5 places. However, the nap is Titian in the 17.20 at Newmarket. I'm certain this horse has one or two handicaps in him this season.🤞
I'm hoping Luke had 2 winners yesterday. The 2nd was Sharpham cheese. Never heard of it. Looked a decent range and it inspired me to send a hamper to my son in law. After extolling the delights of such as Lanark Blue I thought that as he's in Edinburgh he can easily get that but a dairy from Devon? He's a bit of a foodie and his birthday is at the weekend so I'll look forward to his evaluation.
Todays horse fayre is cracking and despite Thunder Blue
Nap Newmarket 1425 Malc
The Norfolk may have been a boil over to many with the winner being 150s (don't think Jake had it) but Elite Status who I was all over came 3rd and having watched the race again I reckon Malc beat him fair and square.
While the cat Oisin is away some are making hay (mixed metaphor for fun) and Hollie is superb at the moment. As they say she's a good book of rides tonight.
Hope he enjoys it! Sharpham is near Totnes - the vineyard there is well established, not sure when the dairy started, but my brother sometimes brings back some good cheeses after a visit to Totnes :)
Shamida wins at 10/3.

Redemption time. Newmarket 3.00,mis the ew nap.
Well done Luke.
Not exactly a high turnout for Newmarket.
I have just put tiny Stakes on everything that Ryan Moore is riding in that Card. It seems sensible.
The nap is Londoner.e.w. 19.25. Leopardstown.
