Two winners on day one of the new comp - well done. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
I'll hold off my naps table challenge until March, but I fancy Certainly Red strongly in the 3.00. I've been watching him and I think he's a future Grand National horse. He's gone up 8lbs for his Sandown win, but I doubt it will stop him, though at the generous price of 9/2 with Bet365 (he'd be 3/1 on my tissue), I've backed him to 4 places EW.

It would be nice if Sam Loxton were to win this hunter chase with Shantou Flyer. His late wife Rosie trained this horse when he ran third in the Cheltenham Foxhunters in 2020. Rosie also trained the winner of this race in Virak the same year.
I'm very sorry to hear that legendary Northumberland trainer Alistair Charlton has died aged 89. I grew up a mile or two from his yard and he was having winners here there and everywhere when I first started to go racing. Condolences to son George, daughter Jane and all the family. There's a fitting tribute by David Carr in the Racing Post.
Nap: Chelmsford 7.00 - Mick's Spirit.
I very much liked the look of Pop Dancer each way in this contest, but with a NR the field is down to 7.
Thanks Joe for the heads up re Certainly Red. There are plenty of people on this forum who are worth listening to and you’re definitely one of them. Cheers 👋
That 15:00 at Wincanton is a puzzler, isn't it. Lots of eye-catching names. I'm tempted by the 12/1 about Moroder. Last season, a nothing run in his first race of the winter was followed by four wins on the bounce. This season, we've had the opening nothing run, so four straights wins are logically certain to follow.

So who's done the Fakenham Sergeant Wilson / Uncle Arthur double?

Certainly Red is an interesting horse though i cant really get into EW at 9/2. I suppose in some ways its a "free bet" if if you have a strong opinion and think few will beat it but if it runs a stinker or tips up you are down twice. In general i need to seeing about 8 to 1 to bet EW,
I'm on a poor run at minute nap wise - like my football team Motherwell who are in dire problems having won 1 home game all season - will see if Bolsover Bill in the Fakenham 18.50 can break it. Should get a run for my money.. Maybe i should turn to AW!

On the new Racing Post website, the search bar does not work. It may relate to my browser (Google Chrome). Others have the same problem and have said so on Twitter. RP says they are aware of it. It's not good news for RP which is trying to re-invent itself bolster its reputation....
I downloaded the App, but received so many alerts every day that I have now uninstalled it.
Certainly Red is 4-1 on Skybet to five places.
