Naps Table Update
Two 3/1 winners on Wednesday: Hasankey for Loose Buttons, and Eaton Collina for David; well done, gents.
If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
Cheltenham Festival
Any ideas for tipping competitions at the festival?
I'd be interested a Cheltenham tipping competition. Happy to chuck a few quid in for prize money/charity donation.
Maybe limit to two selections per day to ease the workload on Joe. Happy to go with the consensus though.
Galtee Mountain won at 11/8
Silver Shade won at 10/3.
Radetzky march won at 10/11
Chambard wins for the nap at 10/11
Falcon Sun is 3 out of 3 at Leicester and 0 out of 23 everywhere else in the whole world. He might are it 4 out of 4 in a few minutes.
The oddly named French Bumper is a debutant for the in-form Gary Moore yard. He won a modest point in Nov 2020 but in the joint fastest time of the day. Then he went to the sales but was led out unsold (six-figure reserve). Gary has bought him privately for considerably less, I suspect. Maybe one leg is on the wrong way round. He's one to watch today rather than back, I think. Galudon was distinctly flattered to run second to the excellent Journey With Me and his long absence and his trainer's form do not augur well. The Honeyball horse will be ready to go and he looks the one, if only for his name Howlingmadmurdock. Commentator should have fun there.
Chambard in the 1512 @ Fontwell is my NAP. 5/4 ish.
Happy whatever the Cheltenham format...also happy to chuck in tenner or whatever.
I’d like to take part in the Cheltenham comp. picking a horse per race sounds good. Id also be happy with an entry fee.
Rather than taking on Nina The Terrier with my intended nap, I am taking an easier option and picking one to beat one of WM's. Duchess Ravenwaves in the 16:15 at Clonmel.
Desque De Lisle 1.45S Nap
I'll probably be away during Cheltenham, so Unlikely to take part in any competition - so i won't put in my tuppence worth of thoughts.
As for Cheltenham I will go along with any format that is agreed for a competition.
Show on the Road 1.10 Sandown is the nap ,well done yesterdays winners.
Silver Shade - 15.47 Fontwell (nap)
nap today is Chambard for the very in form Venetia. Fontwell 15.12
There are some interesting races today , but then when its jumps i can always find an interest and a few shorties worth a speculative combo.
Indecision day Stick with shorter odds or be greedy and choose longer?
Global Agreement has been good to me and has a bigger claimer on now to off set the rise, is in good form and is genuine. While this suggests he is just about at the limit he could win. Drifting. Arthurs Seat as a juvenile was a Rooney horse and they had some good ones. Certainly set off in the right direction. Now with someone I don't know Toby Bulgin. Perhaps his pockets are bulgin because he has nearly halved in price. Forgotten why he's in my tracker. Personal conundrum.
Love Envoi is well supported and another favourite. But so too is Speech Bubble. Same conundrum. Back 'em all I suppose!
Nap Font 1655 Galudon
who I'll back if I come out ok from the preamble, but who is up against the wonderfully named Howlingmadmurdoch - chuckling already at that one.
Il chuck my oar in today - I like Jamie idea of a Fiver/tenner in each? Tips of each race to SP and returns to charity?
may be able to wangle a free bet out of a company who gives the tickets Joe? could be who has best SP returns for the week gets the free bet?
Onto a bet …. Im hoping it’s a bog at Clonmel today as I’ve had an EW bet on mamaslittlestar in the 3.40 at 20s+
could need a longer trip but it’s against more realistic opposition today and I think the track could suit. Also returns to hurdles where she has shown winning form. Very speculative at the prices.
Hi Joe, my thoughts for any comp are to make it fun / interesting, and easy for you to administer. Remember the Guardian did one where you had to select losers and you were eliminated if you picked a winner! But that may be a lot of work.
The other suggestion is daily Lucky 15, 31, Heinz or even a Super Heinz tip comps, all based on SP, that people post the return (saves you the work). Can then total each day for an overall Festival winner.
Thanks for organising whatever you decide to do.
Today's NAP is Tejano 6.00 Chelmsford
Mr Fred Rogers (2.30 at Clonmel today) was recommended to me as "very exciting" and a Cheltenham bet in the Pertemps or Martin Pipe, but I see he has now been entered for the Albert Bartlett. His jumping gives cause for concern (to put it mildly), but he has a turn of foot that is very impressive.
