Sondheim. 19.00. Dundalk.
Died last month. The man not the Horse. Alas I know the fate of my Betting Slip.
I wish I did!!! 😆
Anyone got a theory why there were so many big price winners at Donny today?
Fairlawn Flyer won at 7/2
Round The Bouy won 4/1
Thunder rock won 5/6
Ballyare 18:30 Newc Nap... one of those days when Lucinda has two out, another in the 19:30, have I napped the wrong un..
Up quite a few lb, but one I follow who finally delivered at Punchestown a little over a week ago; Round The Bouy, 1630 Thurles (4/1).
NAP Welsh Saint 3.50 Doncaster.
Willie Mullins runs three in the Thurles bumper (not something he likes to do if he can avoid it) but by far the nicest is O'Moore Park, yet another son of the currently fashionable Walk In The Park. Having won a point back in October at Umma I thought he was good thing to win a four-runner Fairyhouse PTP bumper three weeks later. Small-field bumpers can be tricky tactically and on the day the horse was run out of it by Glenglass who received a brilliant front-running ride by Jamie Codd. Glenglass is a promising type himself, a real dour stayer, but a more astute ride from Pa King would have served O'Moore Park better. It's no disgrace coming second to the master. O'Moore Park has been bought by the Riccis since then and he will be expected to win today. Going forward he looks one for the spring and summer as he is a good-actioned individual who would not be at his best in winter heavy (yielding today). Among the unknown quantities is Gordon Elliott's I Am Fortunata, another pricey purchase by Mike Grech (175k as a 3yo store). He has winners in his family and is solid in the market. He will have to be really tuned up to beat the favourite.
Runasimi River 4.20 Doncaster
Embrun Mitja in the 13:45 at Thurles. Like EGS's nap will probably be beaten by the Mullins one, but I will care.
My life is now dominated by the Twitter feed Ulysses Reader which tweets out snippets of the novel in sequence every 10 minutes.
Aberama Gold 6.30
I was going to go for Elle Est Belle as she got reasonably close to a Supreme Novice contender; Rob picked my other shortie but as I'm miles behind again and I had been thinking along Cornsay's lines I'll go for a drifter
Nap 1410 Donny Caitlin
for one of my fav trainers at one of his local tracks and booking the future champ stands out - on the other hand it could be the work of his agent!
I gave up about halfway through checking out all the tracker horses: as David said above, lots of fancied ones out today, many named above.
The puzzle I've set myself for today is: which of Brian Hughes' six rides at Doncaster will be his winner? Because surely at least one will be. I might be becoming a little obsessive about Hughes. It's a tricky puzzle because none of them are McCain-trained and there seem to be reasons to oppose several of them. Moonamacaroona (16:20 Doncaster) looks the most promising to me, getting in at 10-13 for a handicap debut. So I'll take that as a nap.
In an attempt to halt my poor run I'll go for Lubeat Foras in the first at Ffos Las
Fairlawn Flyer in 3.37 at Ffos Las for me today.
Nap Huntingdon 3.10 - Wonderwall
no sort of price but it's in the tracker.
Steel Wave - 14.10 Doncaster -
Road Warrior at Donny 14.45. its a very Mad Max name. Fair sprinkling of fancied horses going in this week - hope everyone has a few extra quid to play with.
