Two Saturday winners (and one I missed on Friday) - well done. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
One of the points I made before they deleted my post in The Guardian yesterday was the value of the concession by bookies, mainly Skybet, who started it, in offering EW to a daft number of places. It's far and away the best concession I've known, and other bookmakers are being forced to join in. I'd go as far as to say that I would not have made quite a few of my recent selections on my Steeplechasing blog (the ones I post here and in The Graun) were it not for those concessions. Though I bet small stakes, Skybet do limit me; On Thursday I had a tenner EW with them at 22/1 Volcano, then went back an hour later for another 5 EW, which they refused. I'm not that bothered so long as I can get something on and am looking forward to some crazy Cheltenham EW offers that bring permed EW doubles and trebles into play. And I had to laugh at old tracksuit Dave's website after he implied I was somehow linked to the bookies I mentioned; there's not a word of content, just a page full of affiliate clickthroughs.
All the best.
Joe

Intervention placed at 11/2
That's now 5 out of my last 6 selections that have finished runners-up.
Made In The Woods. 15.40. Punchestown.
Just don't know won 4/5.
Ew nap. Asadjumeriah. Southwell 3.20.

First Account 3.00K nap
3.20 Southwell - Intervention (each way)
Having maintained my appalling record in the Lanzarote where my 3 all pulled up I'm trying to console myself that only 4 finished no doubt leaving the extra place bookies delighted.

which is drifting and I'm just hoping its not a donkey!
Beat Box - 14.30 Kelso
Wor Verge Kelso 14.30 EW.
Just don't know 3.00K.
Embour out to 80/1…my brain is telling me that Ruth will be telling the jock…”no faffing around today, we’re going for the win”….dream on.
The Green Man (each way) - 15.20 Southwell
Getaway Gerry 1.00 Kelso is todays nap, well done yesterdays winners.
First, thanks for the Steeplechasing blog post and the early posting of same as the odds on Volcano shrank back to what you estimated they should be.
I am glad that you explained the moderated Guardian post as I did not see the original. One point about the many places offer that has occurred to me is that in long hard races sometimes only a handful actually finish as the jockeys pull the horses up if they have no chance, etc. However, the doubles/trebles formula with multiple selections in two/three races has worked for me in the past (very infrequently).
The other feature of the many places offer is of course the reduced odds that goes with it. I have been caught several times by the SP being much better than the price taken earlier. I have taken to splitting bets into two stakes one at SP and the other at the odds quoted. A tedious business.
All the above should not be taken to mean that I am up on the bookie. Far from it, I am a good 10% down on the previous 12 months, albeit with my small stakes.
Anyway just looked at my tracker for tomorrow and at present Lucinda Russell has 9 out at Kelso....it's like looking at all of hers in a 9 runner race and trying to pick the winner....Luckily Ruth Carr has only got the one running.... Embour 15:20 Southwell EW Nap...some mixed lucky 15s with Lucinda
