Great start for David and Robichaux, with JD and john987 in the mix too - well done. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
Some interesting results today, didn't watch Fairyhouse but Teahupoo was one that peaked my interest, one of those ones that popped out from a previous performance, without quite remembering why, but thought Honeysuckle would have it. And yesterday, I've thought since Cheltenham that Edwardstone was not getting quite as much praise as deserved, but uncertainties about Shishkin, and Greaneteen's Haldon win, meant a no bet. I didn't lose anything by not betting either race! But Edwardstone was a one that got away...
Yesterday, despite tipping Eclair de Guye, I did have a late saver on Quick Wave despite thinking he may want it softer, which almost covered the day's bets.
Not keeping detailed notes, but increasingly thinking I should go with my gut!!
Well done to those finding winners. I'm putting the hex on EGS
Nap Fairy 1355 Gaillard du Mesnil
to give the Donnelly's a bit of pleasure after yesterday's Shiskin shattered dreams. He didn't look engaged at the start, ran a bit but then CBA seemed to set in. You'd hope it was the kick at the start.
Went to Sandown yesterday and saw Edwardstone win in convincing and impressive fashion. It will take a very good one to get the better of him at Cheltenham. Interested to see Jonbon jumping when there’s one or two that lay up with him as it looked like an exhibition round yesterday with nothing able to apply pressure.
I came away from Sandown wondering how many of that big crowd would have been there if alcohol wasn’t available? Answers on a postcard please!
Clearly VW’s horses are now really motoring (with no sign of emission issues!) and today, while loathe to desert First Flow, I fancy her Pink Legend to cause a bit of an upset in the Peterborough Chase (14.55 Huntingdon). That’s my selection.
Great article in the RP about Gary Moore. Proper bloke.
Milton is on the mend and on his way home shortly.
As are we ,it was 18' when we left the " ranch " above the Algarve ,it was minus 6 last night in Salamanca which is preparing me for cold mornings at home on the gallops I suppose.
Has anyone ever stayed at BANOS MONTEMAYOR in Spain, what a beautiful looking place with a real history. Should give Harry and Tom something to get their teeth into today ,the railway terminus seems to have been a story in itself and its Roman history is brilliant . Trajan was there !! I never knew he was born in what is now Seville.
There will be a full syndicate members report in a few days time from Paul and me.
Gran Slash in the 20:40 at Gulfstream Park
Prepare for some after-timing misses!
