Two Saturday winners - well done. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
So sorry to see Hill Sixteen losing his life at the first. It seems connections are convinced the carry-on beforehand affected him badly. Such a shame.
Corach Rambler won like the blot I suppose he was and gave me a day to remember on his own through single bets, though I had him in a fiver EW double with Friday's nap Fantastic Lady (33/1) who finished second. I was happy to see W Greatrex get some luck with the winner of that race, but just wished it had been on another day! Still, after more than 50 years of trying, I finally managed to put the right horses on the same slip at the right time:

Grillon De Monty won at 5/1 - I've picked myself up off the floor after reading that result.
Well done again Joe - not sure it will buy a share in Corach Rambler now though :P
The Kemble Brewery won 11/4
Animal Aid called Aintree "a prolific killer of horses". I should have thought that was actionable. However, if the courts' leniency in dealing with Extinction Rebellion, Just Stop Oil and other recent protest groups is anything to go by, don't expect the "Aintree 118" to be line for more than a mild admonition. Oh - I see over 40 of them have already been de-arrested.
The G has just put up an article by that Lockwood chap who Kev Blake destroyed on TV.
Any doubts where the G stands now lads.
Time to invite all the TH contributers here ,yes even you Michael .
Point Lonsdale won the 15.10. Curragh. 2/1.
Leo decided to copy me with that nap instead o copying jakebuckfast and that was rash but we both scored at a nice price
Congratulations Joe, great result and well deserved!
In terms of the G's coverage and BTL commentary on the GN, it's a pile on and there's little point raising support for racing there. Be interested to know how many of the 118 arrested are eventually charged and brought to court. My ideal punishment is they all form part of 3 extra fences after the Elbow!
What to do next year? Lower the number of runners lower the distance, lower the maximum weight? After this though, what kind of contest do you have? I think the protestors primarily contributed to the carnage at the first few fences, so first thing is to prevent that happening again. Look to promote the Aintree festival as Liverpool's "fun day in the sun", and allow scousers free reign to deal with "out of town" protestors, as they see fit.

Despite the favourite winning the National and the third, fourth and fifth being well backed, the bookies are all smiles today. Why? Perhaps the thieving overround of 143% has something to do with it.
I have made my disaffection from the Grauniad clear before so I cba going down that road again.

Just because they can readie an nhf
Evidently there is widespread dismay over what has become of the Guardian in recent times. I always have a sense of sad anticipation when the big events in racing occur each year - Cheltenham, Aintree, Royal Ascot, Melbourne Cup etc - as they always provoke a lot of anti-racing comments BTL with Guardian regulars trying valiantly to argue with them. But that is a futile exercise when the antis post not only inaccurate, ill-informed or prejudiced views, but total lies and distortion for political effect. Furthermore, the Guardian both provides a platform for this toxic bilge and does nothing editorially to contradict it, presumably in the cause of "free speech". As Dilton notes below, however, that only goes so far as they are peculiarly quick to censor views that are deemed to be contrary to their own agenda - even when they are frankly hypocritical.
This article on what is going on at the Guardian makes interesting if depressing reading. (The link doesn't open directly so right click it and open in a new tab.)
Why have they divided the Wincanton bumper? 11 runners in two divisions.
Congratulations again Joe. On Twitter I enjoyed reading all the comments especially the one about how to write a begging letter. Mine is already in the mail.
The death of Hill Sixteen was particularly poignant to me as he's been on my trackers list for several years. Both jockeys and horses are athletes, and like many others i can't help but think that the delay effected the race. The carnage at the 1st fence was a painful reminder of watching the GN many years ago. I wonder if some of the jockeys feared an Emily Dickerson incident. On a happier note, I did manage to back the winner.
Time Tells All in the 14:35 at The Curragh.
Nice work Joe. Has your account been closed yet?
Good to see the Russell, Scudamore, Fox team triumph once again. They’ve really got something going up in Milnathort.
Feels a bit ‘after the Lord Mayor’s show’ today and can’t find one in the UK which takes my fancy. Londoner in the 13.33 at Longchamp is the selection.
I'll try Grillon De Monty 3.50H for the nap
Improving ew, is today's hopeful selection. Curragh 5.25.
Congrats Joe.

I'm another who has lost patience with the Guardian on many fronts.
It's been over taken by several cults none of whom I'm particularly sympathetic too which controls its coverage of everything.
It's website is free and has reasonable coverage of Sport say so will attract hits but the editorial choices and BTL hatred of many things I like make it a poor place for me. What a shame.
Minelka Voucher Ew. Win 16.10 today.
Well done Joe...I had a reasonable bet on Corach but didn't nap it , was the National after all....todays EW Nap is Secret Road 17:25 Curragh
NAP 3.10 Curragh – Point Lonsdale
Great work Joe! The Milky bars are on you.
That's a cracker, Joe...superb. matterhorn 3.15H.
Thanks for the kind comments. My nap is Judicial Law, 3.50. Good luck all
Joe
