Well deserved win, and I the think the rules are wrong. But it's rare to see Ryan hitting a mount so many times - I think that shows he was responding.
In real time I didn't count but I could tell Ryan Moore wasn't nursing him home when AR seemed to be already in an established Rythmm.
It is possible he was flashing the Whip.
It was a strange meeting and in 2 post Race interviews with losing Trainers they were critical of Jockeys.
The short straight at Leopardstown helped the tactics of Ryan Moore today but it is strange weather and I thought Horses held at the back would reel him in at least in one of his treble.
Yep,I tried ,I really tried not to but it was impossible.
Mind you I've resisted laughing at Sunaks proclamation that his small boat policy is working . Those 876 who landed curtesy of our border force taxi service might make that look a bit odd.
But the dippy buggers with the Migrants welcome here posters cheering them really tested me.
Did have a Dianne Sayer lined up at 33/1...close to Jake's favourite odds, after her 40/1 winner during the week...unfortunately a non runner...but it would have won!!!
Missed a few days as we had to head north to meet our first grandchild. 😁 (Gives me an excuse for a poor showing in the end of month table!) I'll re-enter the fray with Fernando Rah in the 17.30 at Ascot.
I've been so excited about today's Leopardstown meeting that I've barely been able to sleep since mid-week. There could well be a couple of hard luck stories in the Champion Stakes. It can get real messy off that home bend as the pacemakers fall back and the non-stayers fade. If Auguste Rodin is in front, or along side Point Lonsdale at the 2 pole, I fully expect him to win.
Here's the latest addition ,4 yo gelding by the champion SA stallion Gimmethegreenlight out of a G1 winning producing dam line. Full brother is a G1 winner . He's doing his pre training roadwork at the stud with Meg now .Beautiful moving horse with attitude and a real character.
Americans seem to baffled with their murdering escapee he not gone far..
Adelaide River won 11/8.
Auguste Rodin won 11/4
Will see if he can bounce back from a dreadful run again....
Nap: Auguste Rodin, 15:20 leop
