Fingers crossed for Tommy's Oscar today. His last visit to Cheltenham was very unfortunate. He boiled over in the prelims, he pulled the jockey's arms out and it was all a bit much for him in front of that huge crowd. Ian Hamilton was planning to leave home at sparrowfart this morning to get Tommy settled in nice and early at Prestbury Park. Though it was only a match, Tommy's fencing debut at Carlisle after a long layoff and giving an in-form rival 17lbs was one of the performances of the season so far in my book. So hopefully he will show his true colours this afternoon. And there's no Honeysuckle this time, yay!
Good luck to Pentland Hills too, hope he runs well for you, Moida.
I like him a lot. Connections said after today that jock thought he needed the race and the target will be The Arkle; his next run is planned in the FF at Newcastle
Stolen Silver and Simply The Betts the main ones for me in the Paddy Power with the latter looking particularly good value - probably a couple of points longer because of his amateur rider and new owner David Maxwell taking the mount. But I think the price more than compensates for that and he's my nap. Umbrigado another double figure priced one who could go well in first time blinkers, an application D Pipe used to get right quite often, though I haven't looked at his recent record. A fine day's racing in store. Good luck.
Yarralumla - 18.00 Wolverhampton. I know I said that its last run was the final chance as far as I was concerned, but …….what can I say? I reserve the right to change my mind!
It was tough choosing between Lucinda Russell and Ruth Carr for my nap today….my nap let me down but a nice saver with Ruth a treble on Ruth Carr
Summerghand won 2/1
Pardom
me wins at 6s EW. i had it at 10s or wouldn't have went EW. Still a winner
Ouch, that was painful! I had GA Law double with Algiers, who was 5 lengths clear with 1 furlong to go... chinned on the line in a photo ;(
Getting to be ones to avoid selections
