I’m having to work out of the London office this month and on Thursday I made the trek down to Fontwell Park. The 7 races had a total of 32 runners and many in the already sparse crowd began to leave after race 4. The staff were friendly enough but there is an obvious issue with morale. I can’t remember ever being more despondent at a racecourse and that was despite backing a 25/1 winner and getting a line in the placepot (£80.30). Anybody that doesn’t think there are seriously problems with horse racing in the UK, needs to pay a visit to Fontwell. There is a brand-new housing development across from the track and another one about ½ mile down the road. It looks pretty obvious that Fontwell is not long for this world.
I decided last night that Boardman who ran a cracker despite an awful draw at Chester and Magical Max were a decent double. In the cold light of day aka sobriety while I had a saver on them as I changed my mind this morning and plumped for Northern Express and
Nap Thirsk 1605 Tinto
who is now down to a decent mark and got no sort of a run last time.
In the Lockinge I thought New Mandate was worthy of tiny sporting ew so I could have an interest
Apologies for the short nap, but I don't have time today to look through the races. Baaeed nap (15:20). Could double up with the even shorter price deodar (19:40).
Loose Buttons was dithering between Alfred Munnings and Grande Dame who was beaten by only a Head yesterday. I think the rules are clear and I was by far and away the best napster yesterday.
It is a good day to build an APOB Coupon at Navan, methinks.
If I had to pick one it is Cougar in the 17.35.

Good luck with Cougar, such a naughty name from Mrs Magnier.
