Winner for Alan, Luke and a placed horse for EGS - well done. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
Kicking myself on Soul Seeker, winning the 2.05 at 25-1 - I backed a few times before and when he won 2 years ago. I was considering an EW bet, before deciding to pass on the race altogether, as too much of a lottery.... Wouldn't it be so easy if we could just roll back 15 minutes??!!! We'd all be millionaires :P
Like others the KG has too many options - i quite like Hukum but fear Auguste Rodin among others. I'm going to nap a horse that won for me a week or so ago Golden Shot out again under no penalty for the Shrewd Sir Mark P in the York 4,35.
Congatulations to yesterdays winners. As hard as I've tried the KG is beyond me, so I will just savor the race. Some words in US spelling never look quite right to me, savor is one of them.
Look forward to the King George - as GForce says today is tricky...
The last couple of days looking at the KG, I felt Desert Crown and King of Steel have more to come. Desert Crown is out, and I didn't like the price of King of Steel, but having drifted today, I'll go with that (took 5/1):
King of Steel 3.40A nap
Done him with Biggles. And I couldn't resist an EW on Pyledriver 3 from 4 at Ascot, a horse who I think may do himself an injury some day as he tries so hard.
Auguste Rodin might put it all together and be amazing, but I feel the excuses keep coming and don't like the price!
Today should come with a health warning but sod it I've got stuck in to Hukum and Fresh and Fahey did me a big one last week so I'm hoping the wind op has worked on
Nap York 1440 Barefoot Angel
who Fahey seems to think is pattern class and yet is only rated 97 and won a Group 3 last year.
I expect Auguste Rodin to win but I will stick with Pyledriver in the 15:40 Ascot as the nap as he did me a favour at the Royal meeting. Should be a great race anyway.
Mr Mistoffelees 16:50 Ascot EW Nap...Last run at Ascot was over 1m3....Chased leaders, went 2nd halfway, led inside final 3f, ridden and headed turning in. In front at the mile mark....lets hope he will do the same again today..
Frankie on Escobar also catches my eye..EW Doub with above.
Kodiac Thriller 1.15 Ascot is the nap but I have noticed Peter Chapple - Hyam's North View has been backed from 25/1 to 5/1. I would like to see him have another good horse as I liked the Sangster horses he used to train.
A very good days racing today and with Goodwood next week there is a lot to look forward too.Well done yesterday's winners.
In Cockney slang and urban language "Oi" is used to get attention and it can be repeated two or three times. While I do prefer the more traditional methods of naming horses, we cannot resist this name. It also suits the character of the horse as he's full of himself. While I doubt it will happen, as race planning is based solely on the horses and their opportunities, consider the temptation to run both Uggy and his 'half brother' in the same race!
In an 11 Runner Race I don't see how you can not put all 4 Ballydoyle Runners down to 6 places and still not win handsomely in the 15.40 Ascot. Two are over 80/1 and would that happen if they were trained by Willie Mullins?
I have done that will all 4 and went win only with Auguste Rodin to Boot but need to narrow down my nap.
I am crying out for Auguste Rodin to win but Luxembourg is dogged and may like this step up in distance.
However I think Ryan Moore to hide Auguste Rodin and swoop is the only vision in my head so that is my nap. 15.40. Ascot.
Dilton on the gallops with 3 of the Syndicate's horses. They are thriving and so is the interest in Oi Oi Oi - syndicated to 52.5%. If you re interested:- info@talking-horses.com
That is one bare lady. Roger Hilton was a leadiing St Ives school painter. During WW2 he was a commando and was taken prisoner in the disastrous Dieppe Raid. Three years as a POW gives you plenty of time to think about bare ladies.
Kingman 9.47 woodbine
