No fantasy for Jake's Friday selection Fantasy Believer as he explodes back into form at 22/1. A 4/1 winner too for Highflying: well done. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
Uggy cant stand it without vanilla ice cream and a splash of cognac. So I sent the goodie bag back to the yard. We had a good day today EGS and thanks for your support.
Fine run from Uggy and a decent prize for finishing second. Congratulations to all concerned. If connections have had their fill of stickey toffee pudding, then the Prince Albert in Windermere used to be a tidy old spot. Very good local beers from what I remember.
Fine run by Uggy under a well judged ride, where I suspect something went a bit wrong just after Megan began making progress. I didn't have a good picture, but his hurdling looked more consistent too. Be interested to hear Megan's comments. As I suspected from his earlier runs, no problem at all with the ground. Still waiting to see what he can do at Haydock or Newbury! Well done The Uggy Team!
I've thought from previous runs too that a little give on ground would suit hils style. A fine ride though and must open up opportunities as he was finishing best of all.
Oh dear, Belvedere Blast finished about as well as the USA last night! 3-0 but should have been plenty more... All my selections so far seem to have been caught on the outside, 'things can only get better...'
I only got 9-1 EW (small stakes also) on Uggy, but that was spectacular, I think, from 2nd last most of the way, to overtake all the field, bar one, on heavy ground - I look forward to hearing the feedback from the race, and I hope Megan really enjoyed that :D
I’ve been waiting for this fella to go up in trip, but I’m cowardly resorting to EW terms given my recent poor run. I was very tempted to select Dutch Decoy. There can’t be a more consistent horse in training? One poor run this season on deep ground, but apart from that he's been exemplary. I’m not sure today’s track will play to his strengths, though (I’d love to see this fella have a go on the straight mile course at Ascot).
I think God has taken a look at me and thought 'that fat b will be sat on his arse all day watching the cricket, the Open and the racing again so it can rain'.
OK I'll spend the afternoon making moussaka so I'm off to a greenhouse to pick an aubergine!
Commanche Falls won 4s
Job done, Uggy.
Another Batt 5.05 Ripon won SP 11/1.
Emily dickinson won 6/4.
Jake back on form. Great pick.
Congratulations to Uggy and all those who help him. Hopefully more exciting times ahead.
