I wish Philip Hobbs would knock the novice chasing on the head for Thyme Hill and supplement him for the Stayers Hurdle. Given some spring ground he'd be right in the picture even at nine as the division isn't that strong just now.
Dan Skelton talks a good game doesn't he, but in his heart of hearts he must see that the GC is not the race for Protektorat. He spoke about getting him cherry ripe for the Betfair which he won impressively, then easing off again before this race. But he ran exactly the same race today vis a vis Frodon that he did at Haydock, and Frodon is in the veteran category now, so today has to be disappointing. The Irish GC team will beat this lot out of sight.
Cotswold Chase and Cleeve Hurdle should be good races but nothing I want to back. Gone for Twig and Simply the Betts for bigger price EW double today...
More rubbish yesterday. Oh what joy it gives me to pick a horse that waits to ensure it sets off well in the rear and stays there throughout the race. Why the f did they bother? I'd a good day apart from that and it is still annoying me!
Nap Donny 1440 Idalko Bihoue
Twisters like runners at Cheltenham and save for a couple of long shots in the PP the focus today is Donny where despite all the usual furore about Trials Day there are plenty of stars both equine and human.
