Naps Table Update
Winners yesterday from Gaz P - Fantastikas 5/2, and from Loose Buttons - Metier 11/4. Well done, gentlemen.
If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
Cracking racing. What of Shishkin and Energumene (see my post in the other thread)?
Good luck all
Joe
Just bet Vladamir CERIN st anita.
Cathleen o connell will get you profit for cheltenham.
I think we should post our naps on this Forum and mine was Shishkin in the 15.35 at Ascot.
Routine excellence won 5/6
Royal Pagaille obliged at 5/2. Decent performance under that weight.
Agreed BH very impressive as always...Minella drama won 85/40.
Watching Brian Hughes win there on Minella Drama at Haydock - he's a lovely rider who doesn't get praise he deserves. Super consistent and tends to ride simply - keep horse out of trouble and get to the rail near the end. Makes it look easy.
Some good races but short prices. Palmers hill ascot 14.55 is the nap tho fear Venetias...i was looking a some of PN's horses but famously January is the month he jabs them all qnd they never run to form. Hes very open about it but its a big question mark against anything he puts out for me.
I'm not alone. Navan 3.15. 5 places ew.
Nap 1.45 Ascot - Unexpected Party
West Orchard Taunton 12.58
Routine excellence nap (Naven, 15:25)
I backed Fantastikas yesterday. I didn't think it had won while watching and still don't even after watching the finish several times! Sometimes you can convince yourself your luck has changed. I'd have been in full rant had I backed Queenofhearts.
Trainees, or claimers have been occupying my tiny recently partly prompted by being impressed by Lucy Turner at Wetherby. Venetia is giving her some decent rides and she looks like a learner - she did a carbon copy of Charlie yesterday on Chambard. Today she could easily have a double especially as Venetia loves an Ascot winner. So
Nap Ascot 1455 Fanion d'Estruval
Another claimer Daire McConville was given high praise by Kerry Lee and she noted he had just one win left to maintain his 10lb allowance. As her stable looks to be hitting form Shaman du Berlais could be worth a small wager in the 1545 Haydock
Shaman Du Berlais - 15.45 Haydock is the nap today
1.45 Ascot Stellar Magic my nap
Hi Joe
I'd Love Evoi at 11/2 win yesterday
Shishkin. 15.35. Ascot
Kateson 1.45 Ascot
Not a nap but a discussion point, sorry if in wrong chat but the other one hasnt been used in a while!
Have any Irish trainers been able to successfully land a decent handicap in Britain this year? I feel the Handicapper has definitely been more on the case with adding chunks of weight to the Irish mark? I know Ronan Mcinaly has landed a few lower grade races. Emmet Mullins horse yesterday got about 13lb on his Irish mark? Lost by 5 lengths but that may have been the ground. i would imagine if it ran off its Irish mark it would have been a hell of a lot closer. You wonder how this bodes for the festival handicaps this year?
Given how many festival handicaps have went to the Irish In the last few. they usually get what 5lb Extra? Could be more like 10lb this year? Or whether Irish trainers are going to try make sure they have another few lbs in hand to make up for it ! could there be a more even split in the handicaps this year? The bulk of the graded races will be defo be headed to the HDB/Mullins/Elliot and Henderson camps though.
A year can be a long time in racing,in the 2.35 Haydock race last year Sam's Adventure was an 11/4 chance and unseated early. At 40/1 4 places I had to have a little on EW today on this C&D winner. For the competition I will make him my win nap.Well done yesterdays winners.
