I had always thought this Curragh Card was on a Sunday but maybe brought forward as respite to the Shergar Cup.

It is a really disappointing field for the Phoenix Stakes.

I can't fathom what APOB is up to.

I think he has had at least 10 consecutive losers in the last 7 days through chancing his arm with born losers.

Two 'Z' listers in that Phoenix field who might get lucky but will be fading memories.

The Race was there for City Of Troy to do a destruction Job aka Little Big Bear and then let the rest of an impressive looking squad clean up at 7/8F G1s.

A bird in the hand...

Maybe he is unconsciously setting it up for his Son's Filly to get a G1 as he knows he will clean up the rest of the 2yo season anyway.

Why no English Runner when the form is reliant only on the Railway Stakes?

Great memories Jonathan. Probably no surprise to learn she is one of my favourite racehorses, along with Dancing Brave and Time Charter. When I watch her Breeders Cup win now it makes me feel quite emotional (an age thing?). Love all the planning Clive Brittain put into it; he was a real character and so enthusiastic. And Pat Eddery was a genius.

I'd always fancied owning a golden labrador and after that race I got one and named her Pebbles. Many people assumed I was a big fan of The Flintstones!

Great Pic and I think you should seek the Patent for it to print Valentine Cards that could fund your Alligator Race Track.

Normally it is Donkey or Mule that acts as the escort and nobody remembers their name.

I can't understand why you remember Come On The Blues.

I was also a Fan of Pebbles and Brittain.

He wasn't born with a Silver Spoon in his mouth, came up the hard way and had no respect for Superiors in any Race, He tilted at Windmills and always seemed to believe they would win.

This fella was badly placed last time but stayed on after Art Power had already flown. Looks as though the step up to 6f will suit and Commanche Falls is vulnerable, having to concede weight all round.

Very much looking forward to the Phoenix today with the top 2 in the market by Wotton Bassett. 8 race card including a grp1 & 3 and it's free entry into the Curragh today.
