The Syndicates trainer Tim Donworth had a winner at Royan yesterday with the ex Haggis HOODWINKER ridden by Aaron Mackay. Stables hitting form according to Tim so worth following now. Hes running a Kodiac 2 yo at Chantilly tomorrow ridden by Demuro ,KOKACHIN.
ROUGET has a 3 yo colt called AL HAKEEM who he rates as highly as he did Sottsass at this stage . The way he changed legs and quickened instantly suggests hes top class and should be followed. He's been brought along in typical Rouget style and the Arc is the plan.
@Loose Buttons My bookmaker just quoted me 12/1 although they don't include the horse in their advertised Arc prices. Perhaps they "know something", as McCririck used to say!? Hills go 33/1 and the rest haven't priced him up.
@Dilton It's the first time I have seen Royan on the telly. It looks a delightfully ramshackle course. I wouldn't think they are often graced by a horse in the colours of an English duke! And in the centre of the course there is one of those extraordinary uphill-and-down-dale French banks courses where the field goes out of sight frequently - a steeplechasing version of crazy golf.
"Oooodwankair" is not easy for a French commentator to say.
It was disappointing to see Waterville getting beat again yesterday. Waterville is a lovely spot. Years ago, I cycled from Killarney to Kenmare and then onto Waterville. The descent into Waterville from the Coomakista pass was stunning. I was having to stop every couple of mins to take photos… & because of near total exhaustion.

The nap is Comrha 16.25 at Roscommon and it’s in a double with Smooth Tom in the 18.00.
Another Bloody Monday Morning and another Bloody Monday overseeing Roscommon Racecourse which is actually nice and I could see the Races from a former Work Place Facility once upon a time.
APOB ran something at Bellewstown (yes) 10 days ago and has panicked in to get winning material in to the Stallion Saxon Warrior in the opening Maiden called Victoria Road who I think should be swerved by a Victorian Mile.
I am sorry but the days of APOB and Bellewstown +Roscommon are long gone.
As the Bard of Barking sang "it's a long way down from Top of the Pops to drawing the dole and I'm waiting for the great leap forwards". I genuinely don't see the APOB plan for this year.
I am going to nap Coventry in the 19.00.at Roscommon.
Named by Sue Magnier for a Race He never ran in e.w.
When i worked in Roscommon Hospital most of my Peers commuted from places like Galway.
The local Nurses couldn't understand why they chose to commute and not live in the Town.
One Nurse berated us with the line "Roscommon has a Cinema and a Swimming Pool. What more do you want?"
The Cinema is now closed but I do think she had a point. I often reference this line when people are deciding criteria for places to live.
Lockdown has greatly effected these criteria.
I realised that the only criteria I choose for place of residence is proximity to an Arthouse Cinema and a weekly live Jazz Gig and the latter seems to be gone for good.
