Gaz carries his fine recent form into a new week. Robicheaux and Luke also got a profit: well done all. If I've left anyone out, I apologise; please leave a message on this thread and I'll update.
Although this fella's never won on anything slower than good, he has been placed on good to soft. A mark of 74 doesn't leave any wriggle room though.
One of my trackers is entered later: Kathab. However, he's currently trading at 1/12 and I'd fully expect a 7day suspension from our esteemed judge for selecting one at those prices.
The classic generation...... I'd high hopes for the form after Paddington looked superb against Emily U who has a realistic chance in the Arc (caveat being Japan's first victory) then along comes the Prix Jean Prat. I suppose Indestructible ran a decent race but the others with form that linked to Paddington were nowhere. You can forgive the odd one eg my pick Hi Royal set off in last rather than being in the van so I knew the cash was down the pan before half a furlong, but all of them (Chaldean, Charyn)?
Luke's already picked my tracker horse whose name always makes me think would be a good cheese so
I rarely bet odds on, but I backed Chaldean at 6/5 as it looked there for the taking - Murphy said he felt fine till halfway, but looked beaten before that to me!
And my remaining bet at Wimbledon, backed at 74-1, Tsitsipas has just been knocked out by Chris Eubank...
I am totally baffled by the current price of your selection: 20/1. The RP tissue had him at 12/1 while ATR really did fancy him at 100/30 second favourite. He has drifted from an early 7/1 out to 20s for this, his hurdles debut. There was similarly peculiar betting about another Emmet/Mee horse last week, Purple Mountain, in a Leopardstown QR flat race (which incidentally, featured a Sir Mark Prescott horse called Whatawit that had already won two English bumpers but was only good enough to run third in this event). The layers have learnt by bitter experience not to underestimate the Mullins horses that are definitely trying; but this looks like a gross underestimate of Thissongisforyou for an owner he is very keen to do well for. Late market moves in his favour should be heeded.
Coverdale won 15/8 (awaiting full result)
Cosmos Raj won at 5/1
Macs Dilemma wins at 4/1
Having a look at Newmarket races, and though I was querying Charlie Appleby's form 8 winners from the last 14 doesn't look too shabby...
3.35 on Thursday, good luck identifying your horse, as 5 out of 6 are in royal blue :P
34thirty won at 15 to 8
Chepstow 5.20 - Macs Dilemma
Cosmos Raj in the 19;20 at Ripon.
Times I've napped him - 3, times he's won when I napped him - 0
Might be of interest to some of you.............
