Naps Table Update
As a betting shop manager a long time ago I had to take a view many times on what punters actually meant by what they had written on a betting slip to decide whether or not they got paid. It was far from unusual for a punter to confuse two horses, but one guy in Hamilton in the mid 70s manger to conflate Rhodomontade, Chukaroo, and Charta Pearl into Rhodachukarte. I had to make that one void.
Another hopeful plea came from a punter (in Hamilton again) the day Dunfermline won the Oaks. There was another good horse around at that time called Cumbernauld, and that's the one he put on the betting slip, claiming after the race, 'It was obvious what I meant!' The Scottish towns of Cumbernauld and Dunfermline are about 30 miles apart geographically. Anyway, he didn't het paid either.
But I am happy to conclude that when Gforce napped Bravemansgame today, naming the 2.25, he meant Brewinupastorm, thus he is on the scoreboard yet again. Other winners were David with War Lord 11/10, Pebbles with Barrichello 7/2, and Loose Buttons with Our Jester 5/2. Nice tipping, folks.
As we move into the final week of the competition, Loose Buttons has 11 winning naps, Gforce 10, Gaz P 10, and Rob J 7: that is some achievement, gents. Well done. We others should keep our chins up, as a big priced winner is only a shriek away.
Good luck all
Joe

I never saw Dunfermline beat Alleged in the Leger in real time but I know how trauma occurs.
