A shame we won't be seeing Ribble Valley over fences for the first time. He's such a fragile horse but has loads of talent. I hope all is well and we will see him run soon.
After the weekends fare, it's down to earth with a bit of a bump! Mondays NAP will be Antony (which is coincidently my brothers name!) Fontwell 440, some extra places about.
Didn't have any time yesterday to really look at anything, but did find time to put on a thoughtless four-timer (and derivative trebles) on four of the short-odds Leopardstown sorts, who all duly obliged. I would have thought that four Ws on the coupon would have felt more satisfying. Still a win is a win and four wins are four wins.
Anyway. Today. Hidden Dilemma, 15:55 Carlisle. Good course form (though not especially recent), getting a nice amount of weight from the principals, the trainer doesn't send them over from Ireland for fun (v good record from runners in the UK) and I don't think JJ Slevin travels for laughs either.
Mordred winning over at St.Moritz yesterday was interesting , not least because the race was due to be run over 1800 metres but was reduced to a 4f sprint. When he was at Hannons he was not quick ,and hes not got any quicker with age either.
A few short enough today so im going to go a bit further out with Balkardy in the Fontwell 3.35 - its still round about fav but 9/2 rather than 10/11 or so
Shamlaam wins at 9/4
Brian Hughes quietly racks up another four-timer. All in a day's work.
Shamlaam in the 18:00 at Wolves
Global Agreement won 5/2
Late Again, so from what's left
Nap Car 1555 Grand Turina
with the claimer who knows the horse taking a big chunk off!
Defying all possibilities on form, I nap our own wee filly See The Eagle Fly in the 3.00 Fontwell. I need a miracle.
Bingoo. 16.25. Carlisle.
