Naps Table Update
5 winning Thursday Napsters: Highflying Galtee Mountain 11/8: Pebbles Silver Shade 10/3: Rob J Radetzky March 10/11: David and Craig had Chambard 10/11. Well done, all.
Thanks for the Cheltenham comp ideas. We'll leave suggestions open until the end of the week. We can run more than one competition, and I wondered if we could have everyone's nap of the meeting, before the meeting starts? We see what we end up with there, and maybe run a wee betting syndicate for perms? That would give us a collective interest.
Or we could have a daily blog entry perm on jackpot/placepot?
All the best.
Joe
Without wishing to sound like an echo, Grey Skies delivered at 5/6. The working man’s price was taken last night.
If anyone is this side of the Celtic Sea and want's said Gowran freebies, they are a PDF so I'll gladly email them on 😊
Ain't No Sunshine got the job done at 5/4 in appalling conditions. Well done Kelso racecourse for managing to keep the meeting on, surely won't have been too many punters on course.
Empire Steel won at 7/2
JP on a hold up horse at Meydan.. what could go wrong??? Parsifal at 3.45.
Grey skies won 5/6
Re a competition, surely simplest is best. One competition each day, one nap, highest SP wins. If a tie, an NB tipped as well, best placed the decider.
Not a lot to aim at today, and the obvious ones all gone! I'll take a punt on on e who could be anything in the last at 1610 @ Kelso - Fog On The Tyne 22/1 currently so EW.
Grey Skies turn blue to land the nap at 5/6 for myself and a few others!
i wouldn't mind a betting pool type thing where we throw in a tenner a day or something for Cheltenham. An extra bit of fun.
Made my nap EW as it was 10s last night....placed 3rd 11/2
Don’t like opposing EGS but as there are limited opportunities today I’m going with Word Has It in the 14.00 at Kelso.
Is Kelso Racecourse covered by some titanium dome that buffers it from Storm Eunice?
14.00. Elvis
I'll give Empire Steel another chance in 3.05K - the talent is there...
Been wild here today; bin lids taking flight and two bird feeders broken (by the wind, not the bin lids).
Distracted by reading this morning. Some poor author who'd had to find a new publisher because the woke ones had cancelled her. Among the offending words that had to be replaced was 'handicap'. Couldn't decide if racing was heading for a culture shock eg a mob marching on Red Rum's statue and chucking it in the Mersey or racing should be praised for highlighting diversity so much.
Nap Kelso 1300 Travail D'Orfevre
could be a good race as a few have been selected above in the same race.
Tomorrow's National trial at Haydock looks a cracker although I reckon the bookies are being defensive as the top few look too short. It looks an ideal race and conditions for a Venetia inmate, but she doesn't have a runner!
Only tracker horse still running today - Bullion Boss in the 13:00. At least I'm in good company. Stay safe everyone - I've been reading about the storm hitting many of you. At least you have a competent government to help. 🙄
Bullion Boss 1.00
All earlier comments noted. Will amend tonight.
wrt pop song names a few days back Pump it Up dotted up which would have been worth a nap. in todays limited options its Grey Skies in the 13.30 at Kelso for me too.
The skies are blue for Irving Berlin in his classic song but lovely to listen to them praised
--------------------
I never saw the sun shinin' so bright
Never saw things goin' so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly by
--------------------------------
Feels like a young uns song that one (tho Berlin was close to 40 when he wrote it)
Given the weather situation in the UK I'll go for Ain't No Sunshine in the last at Kelso.
Stay safe everyone, don't go out if you don't need to and all that, especially if the weather is bad / getting worse.
Riders on the Storm would be a tropical winner.
My nap is another horse with rock song name. Goodtimes Badtimes 13.00 Kelso.
Nap 3.05 Kelso - Empire Steel
