Brilliant 14/1 nap from Alan On Thursday - well done.
Looks another tough day on Friday, though I'm buoyed by the fact that Saturday's National will include Fortescue, a horse I fancy strongly for the race.
Work has been ridiculous the last month or so (thankfully it eased up just a little in Cheltenham week). I am sure you have all missed my wisdom. Unfortunately for you all work will continue to be ridiculous for the next month or so, but I managed 5 mins to scan a card today and I wish to put up Mackenberg in the first at Aintree (13:45).
I assume he’s too professional to let it bother him but it seems odd that one of the best jockeys around will be at Bangor tomorrow while 40 others are competing in the GN. I understand there are numerous issues involved but it’s almost inconceivable that none of the connections thought they might give themselves a better chance with Brian Hughes in the saddle.
It’s another head scratching day but as I was kept afloat yesterday with an each way double on a couple of Ben Pauling’s horses, I‘ll go with Severance as the nap in the last at Aintree.
Senior citizen nap (16:04). Will have a small e/w double and treble with gellino bello (16:40) and Washington (17:15), who was going to be my nap (so he'll be the one that wins, naturally). Good luck all.
If anyone can predict a Winner in any Race with greater than 20% certainty I will have to use my ultimate sanction of labelling them as someone who needs to be taken aside to a calmer environment.
I include those who might nap Jonbon.
I am giving Aintree a wide berth.
I am tempted to nap Blackbeard in the 17.20 at Dundalk as Sue Magnier has actually thought about the name through its lineage and it has more than 4 letters in it's Title.
I will hold my powder dry till the tricky 19.20 with Ivy League as my nap against my better judgement.
The direct opponent is Timirya trained by D. Weld and wearing the silks of H H Aga Khan.
The horse T N Brett rode for Mags Mullins, Mythical Hero, ran well enough, 20L 4th in the handicap hurdle. His handicap mark was banjaxxed by running a good last of 5 in a novice hurdle behind Mr Fred Rogers. If they can see his mark drop to about 110 he could be a bet.
Barraza looks a good place bet @ 15/2 behind Golden Pal in Keeneland. Poor old Vladimir - it's not his fault he has the least popular first name in the West right now.
Nap is Ahoy Senor in the hope his connections start to really believe in him and let him do what he does best - lead at a hot pace - rather than trying to play chess.
Well done Joe - hope you had a decent bet on him and your faith and judgement was rewarded - as i commented on The Guardian, I had certainly lost faith!
Ahoy Senor won at 4/1
NAP Funambule Sivola 3.30 Aintree
Banbridge 1640 Aintree
Hacker de Places - 5.15 Aintree
Fergal seems to have been quieter than I would have expected of late so
Nap 1345 Peking Rose
Today I will be aiming for Skytastic in 4.40

The nap is Senior Citizen - 16.05 Aintree
Having been passed out most of yesterday and missed everything I'm now up for a different kind of nap.
Speech Bubble in the 13:45 at Aintree

Another Mental Card at Aintree today.

We know how these things plan out.
