Enjoyed a morning at Emma Lavelle's yard just north of Marlborough yesterday. She arranged a canter through her sand track of the 7 Owners Group horses - sand imported from the Bristol Channel since it most resembles the sand from Wexford!
Then had a parade of the horses in the yard. Emma was very responsive and open to questions - noted the bug that affected her yard last season needed time to dissipate. And reflected how the whole yard pulled together. Expecting better things this year but very phlegmatic of what may occur.
She came across really well, still rides out with the team every day, and doesn't judge horses from other trainers - works out what they want. She has a grass gallops, but mainly use the AW track for work. Was able to wander around the stables after the parade and all the stable hands were friendly and helpful. Seemed a happy place. Will look out for other horses (besides Zoran) that she trains with Owners Group as they come up
